A couple of those names jumped out at me there, one of them being Ray Graydon. If that's the 'Haggis' Graydon who I was at Chatham with in the early '70's I believe he has passed on. Needs to be clarified though! Perhaps someone else might know?
Pete Pritchard was the Drum Major at Fleet/Northolt when I left in 1984. _________________ ITMA!
Hey Sammy,
I wasn't in that squad but I do remember you at Eastney in the early 70's.
Serving was Geardie Rowell, Chris Preston, Pete Law, Steve (Tits) Pearce, Malc Thompson, Dave Hubbold, George Castle BEM RIP, Colin Bowden, Al Piner, Spud Murphy, now I'm streeeeeeeeetching the memory banks. I think George Pittock might have been there and Len (Nutty) Edwards.
I, was Tommo 2
Good luck with the search though

Hey Tommo,
nice to hear from you, remember the time the Carole and I came round your place for a snack before we did Mess Beatings. The names you mentioned were all there along with some others , Jim Trewern, George Coad, John Porter, Dave Dawson, Al Piner and others. Hope all is well with you?

Pete is still around, I have no idea what he is doing but agree he was a great kit drummer. Buddy Rich was his idol. He went to the States on the Yacht and picked up a pre ordered replica slingerland kit, the same as Buddy played. Although I do believe on his return to the UK Pete had found the Lord and aquired a new perspective on life. _________________ Director of Music

1962 was way before my time, although I recognise many of the names mentioned.
What I do find amazing though, is the good that comes out of this forum. The last 3 contributors have made it possible for this discussion to go from England to Scotland and Australia....Brilliant!
What the hell did we do before t'internet?

In reply to Hornblower saying somebody else might know about "Haggis" Graydon, if you check out Dickie Valentines website( In Memorium, Sunset page) there is listed a R Graydon who sadly passed over on the 30th December 1993. I'm sure this is the same person that we both served with at Chatham in the '70's as I was told of his demise a while before I saw his name listed on the said site. Quite a character was Haggis.
I have to agree with Ivor, this forum and Dickie's site have re united many an ex and current RMB over time. I personally, having served 19 years in the Australian Air Force, find all the little snippets a great read. As was said before and will be said forever; We were boys together, we served together, we tour the the word together, we laugh together and we cry together. I would suggest, that without doubt we would be the most united family in the world. My hearty thanks to Dickie and this forum.
Each day there is is someone new getting back in contact with our family, if the technology is too much we hear about them through others meeting up at one of the three reunions now happening around the world.
What a wonderful experience we have had in the RMB's.
