A big hi and hello there to one and all. Hope all is well over in England. I am currently in Washington DC. Just thought I'd let people who know my mobile number that it got stolen the other day, so will be back in business with same number in a couple of weeks.
Hows prep going for the festival?

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiish *pouncehug*
How are you finding DC? I hated the place (well what little I saw)
Festival prep is going. That's about all I can say. Froze to death practising the marching last night, it's sooooo bloody cold here :(
Missing your lovely presence as always though _________________

Perhaps doing marching practice in a wind tunnel is all for the greater good.
Or maybe not. |

Piccolo + wind tunnel conditions = not good at all. That and not being able to see the miniscule music
Still, at least we'll be indoors tomorrow! _________________

We too are having weather problems during our marching rehersals.....
The all sun and warm weather we've been having in Scotland has brought out the midges!!!! _________________ Paradiddles? Never 'erd of 'em!!!! |

Tell me, what is this "sun" that you speak of? I thought it was some kind of mythical creature invented to give us hope during the monsoon conditions _________________

Try an airfield... it was like January last night rather than June... wind cheaters & fleeces all round, I'm contemplating finding my cologne thermals, scarf, gloves and hat for next week! _________________ water... it's just a whixer for misky! |

EversoGreenfairy,
the Sun...
Big yellow shiney thing?
The giver of all energy to the earth?
The giver of life?
The cause of the sweet breathe of wind on you cheeks?
Ra, the god of the shiney big yellow thing in the sky?
Rasfaterians, followers of the sun god, mon!
The reason why simple minded folk flock towards the equitorial regions of or planet during their summer break?
The reason why middleEngland still has a hosepipe ban, even though most of it seems to be 18" underwater at the moment? (no offence to those who are living underwater at the moment, But I seem to mannage to live underwater most of the time I'm deployed)
Lets try a practical experiment....
You need, for this experiment:-
A £1.00 coin
A straw from McDonalds(or any other reputable fast food joint)
Sticky tape
Imagination
1. tape the £1.00 coin to the end of the straw.
2. Tape the straw ( with the £1.00 coin away from you) to the top of your head.
3. Imagine the shiney gold thing that you can see in front of your eyes is the "sun"
4. The big yellow shiney thing taped to the opposite end of the straw from your head looks just like 'The Sun'
If you wish to seek further guidance on this ellusive beast called 'sun' then cast your mind back to our sightseeing tour of Washington (DC)!!!!! _________________ Paradiddles? Never 'erd of 'em!!!! |

Mac my dear you are a treasure of wonderous knowledge and I bow down before your almighty mind.
And would that be the sightseeing tour of Washington that went....oooh look a big pointy thing (wow is that plane going to crash in to it?), that's the pool of reflection (it's called that for two reasons you know...), let's count the steps up to Honest Abe...ooh the pillars are really nice and cool when you lean on them, hungry, fairy sets off the alarms getting in to the weird Customs building where there's food, meh kinda bored now, oh look the White House....that's a bit of a disappointment, let's go to the National Archives cos they filmed National Treasure there *mmmm Sean Bean*....gosh there's not really much in the way of history here...oooh things to play with and buttons to press, wow look at the queue to read the one interesting thing that we don't really wanna see....bored, let's not walk to Capitol Hill, cool sculpturey garden place....aaaah nice paddling fountainy thing....cunningly getting rid of change, getting burnt and that flipping awesome house sculptury thing! (I want one)
Washington in a nutshell and I remember the sun now....yay for my hat but boo for burning arms and chest cos my suncream applicator person didn't put enough on.... _________________

Well - that's Washington done.
Now, where else have you been that you can 'do' for me to save me the bother and the money? _________________ ITMA! |

Ahhhh....memories!
I do remember pointing out that it looked as if an aircraft was about to plunge in to the Washington Monument (well it did look like that from where I was standing!), I also remember saying it very loudly, and getting lots of angry stares from the natives!!!!!! _________________ Paradiddles? I'm surprised you remember much at all really, what with being either pished or hungover!
And I think we should've hit you harder with the repeated plane crash comments...I thought we were going to end up being deported!! _________________

Well, sorry to say A, I have a feeling that you'll not quite be golden compared to me.
DC Was awsome, really enjoyed it, have some impressive stuff there. Am now in Indiana for the rest of the week, then home on Friday. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. _________________ The hard work isn' over.... Its only just begun! |
