Looking at the video it's fair to say that  our marching and sound yesterday was the best we have done in years. Let's all keep up the standards and improve. Bloody superb one and all.
Well done Dougie.

Thanks to everyone for a great festival....we were unrecognisable compared with last year!

And, of course, BIG congrats to our fabulous COD - you guys are awesome and we're so incredibly proud of what you do and the effort you put in.

Group hugs all round

Heard some great feedback regarding both performances of the band. So a particular well done to our almighty leader Dougie for raising the standard yet again. Every year we get better and this year was no exception.

Oh, and if anyone didn't know, Corps of Drums . . . . 7 years in a row now! Big well done to Rich for writing a corker of a static! I think the crowd may have liked it. . ?

Well actually I've just found out that the only reason we won this year was down to my good looks.

Maybe the judges mistook you baring your teeth for smiling.

Well done all, give yourselves a pat on the back.

Don't forget you were part of the winning team, Chris. Well done to you and you played the bass drum superbly on the day. Spot on matey.

Let's also not forget the rest of the band either. All round brilliant folks. Well done one and all. We're all one proud team.

Just to say congratulations to you for winning the drum corps award

I was at the festival with the marine cadet unit where I teach the band and we all thought you were the best drums by far.

Lt Cmdr Crisp had told us about the competition us and although it was a long trip from Norfolk it was well worth it

If anyone has a video of your performance I would love a copy pls let me know i will of course pay costs etc.

well done we are already looking forward to next year!

Thanks for your comments, MC901. The Drum Section have worked extremely hard as have all the rest of the Drum Sections in the RNVB world. As for Lt Cdr Crisp. Should'nt that be Tony or Mr Crisp? I don't know why he gets away with wearing that rank in a RN Volunteer Band cos' he ain't a real one whatsoever and if my memory serves me right he was stopped from wearing it by a previous Bandmaster. Me thinks me will be speaking to someone in real authority. Thanks anyway MC901.

lol I wasnt sure how you referred to him so I thought that was the safest option!

in the cadets we still use a rank system as if you were in the forces  and its not uncommon for people to hold a different rank to that which they had whilst serving. when meeting people from outside our unit we use the rank which we are told to by the Col.

That doesnt apply to you guys though so I guess you can call each other whatever you wish (as long as its nice - of course!)

I unfortunately despite having the official title of bandmaster am really only an unranked member on staff  as i have no military background
