My first draft from J/Wing in'70 was to Chatham, under Cpt Pete Sumner(RIP). He kept telling me I played the bass like a euphonium much to my annoyance. I secretly arranged (well copied) Carnival of Venice with variations and practiced until acceptable. Eventually he did it again and I stood up (prearranged with our pianist) and gave it my best shot. On completion I said "No sir, that was like a euphonium". With safety in numbers, and a monster called Stanley "Bugles" Mathews on my side, he joined in the laughter. Got on fine with him then,,,,

I remember you and Alan Ham doing a duet of Forty Fathoms where Lt Ken Sharpe introduced you and Alan as Musn Ham and Eggs. (groan) I also remember Nick Davies doing his Post Horn thing with a Parrot on it, always flying away....Booty :O) _________________ One is hardly sensible of fatigue while he marches to music.

Would that be Digger Brooks?? Or the late Jan Langley???
I CAN'T REMEMBER ONE THAT DIDN'T.
Dewar's in Perth is not one I remember. Either I was as drunk as you or you're thinking of the Edinburgh Distillery. I think I've twigged who you are and fully understand why you wish to remain ananymous..Your secret's safe with me...NOT |

It was definately Perth, as I bought some lemonade before we went there as I didn't like Whisky at that time. I do now though. Jan Langley, that's the man. I know he was technically a Solo Clarinet but he was safer sat on third......Booty :O) Ooo. Ricky Brown was Eb Sax player and Rocky was Bb Tenor Sax. _________________ One is hardly sensible of fatigue while he marches to music.

Good heavens Aaron..
You must have quite an album from your FOSNI days..
You'll be getting Bootybandy all confused.
He'll need to be "a real star" to keep up with you... |
