ok so here's a very funny and slightly irritating game for you all to play whilst at your desks!!

1; stand up, clear some space but don't make it obvious you're on a non work-based website in office hours!

2; stand easy, you know.. feet shoulder width apart etc etc

3; pretend you're holding your instrument/drum thing about to do a gig

4; say "baaaannnd ho" loudly to yourself (in your head)

now...  which foot do you move into the other???

it cost our VBI 27 pints so it's bound to cause you at least 2.7 seconds of quandry???

votes please....

Heronites need not apply!!!

Yes GF, you turn around....

Question is, however, on your left or right foot??

Not as silly as it sounds! I don't know about the RN, but RAF PTIs would bring us to attention with the command:- "With a jump, feet together, PLACE!"

Those of us old enough to have done arms drill with the SLR (or dare I say it, a Lee-Enfield!) will remember that the butt of the rifle was next to your right foot when at the order position. Therefore you had to bring the left foot to the right, otherwise you ended up standing 18 inches away from your rifle!

How does a Plaice put its feet together and why would a PTI be shouting at a fish?

Bobw wrote:

Followed by... "On your spots, COVER"
It is standard RM PTI Shout as well. We knew that after hearing that there was at  least 45 minutes of pain to follow...

At the enbd of the day, pain is just an emotion.
And we all know that men can cut off emotions.

Everyone knows that the left foot moves to meet the right....

this is because most blokes are right handed....

Men will always guard (and cherish) their beer with their strongest arm (to prevent minesweeping) and keep their strong arm close to their pint...

If we moved our right feet to meet our left then we would be 18" further away from our (beloved) beer! ...

or standing at the bar at a funny angle!!!!

(ask the penguins in the Falklands!!!)
