HMS Nelson former oboist wanting a permanent oboe chair in a concert band rather than just filling in various other unfulfilling vacancies which is what I'm currently doing.

I can only make some Mondays, though it will be more worthwhile to me rather than sitting on 3rd clarinet or wherever and getting bored shitless.

Hi mate, Neptune can do with an Oboeist. I'm sure we'll change to a Monday if you can make it every week. Can you drive 500 miles in time to make it for 1930 start?

Good luck in finding a band.

Thanks for the offers, peoples - but both Heron and Neptune are just a wee bit on the far side for me.

I've contacted the new Collingwood VBI, so he's more than happy to have someone in the currently vacant oboe chair - or a vacant oboist in the vacant oboe chair.

Wot?

Thats alittle unfair when you have been requesting different seats. I hope you feel settled now that you have found an oboe seat that you are happy with.

The above comment isn't meant as a personal hit, I have known Astradyne for too long. So i apologise if it has been interpreted that way.
Everyone hopes he feels settled now that he has found a band where he feels he can add worth.
What can I say, my english has never been great, its why I became an engineer

Will do.

Yes I have requested different chairs for quite some time now, but the likelyhood of ever taking them on has been and is unlikely for whatever reason, so as there has been a vacant oboe chair for some time in Collingwood it's a case of moving on to fill this vacancy which I will benefit from rather than getting bugger all out of by staying put and filling what empty chairs there currently are which I don't find worthwhile.

I know for a fact you got bored playing 2nd, 3rd or whatever in several bands, and did you stick with them?

Sod what the hell has gone on or is still going on. Astradyne my son, you will always be welcome at HMS Nelson with open arms as far as a lot of us are concerned. Perhaps you have become as unpopular as I have in certain circles in the RNVB world through no fault of your own. You're an all round good egg and stuff the bollotics and bolloticians.
