Hello, I wonder if you could help. Not sure if this forum is used anymore?

I am a trumpet player who started off in the Nautical Training corps in 87. Since then I moved into the fast paced Drum & Bugle corps scene for too many years to mention: eg Senators http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGImZfaY59I .

Playing and marching (even running) is no problem for me. I also play 1st Trumpet in a Big Band based near Gatwick.

I want to get involved with a naval type band as a progression from my old NTC days when I first started out. I live in Crawley, west Sussex.

I beleive ChrissieB sent me a brief message some time ago, and I think I'd like to join Collingwood. Please can you send me some details on where/when/how/if what the band does over the year etc.

Much appreciated.

Hi Simon,

I can't find your earlier post so forgive me if I give you the same information again!

Collingwood band meets every Monday at 7.30. We don't do much playing and running at the same time (actually, we don't do any - but we do bimble quite well!)

Basically, we do sit-down gigs including dinners, concerts, etc and marching gigs including local parades and the annual Royal Naval Band Festival.

I'll PM you our bandmaster's telephone number - he can give you all the details you're looking for.

Hope to see you soon at Collingwood!
