Note that Duckers was merely a Williams in those days....with apologies to Knocker Williams, of course!

Ooh, some old faeces there Bill. I'd forgotten about half of those. Justin Stupart for one. (Small man but a very muscular body) Paddy Wharry, Johnny Gardener et al. Some good mates, and some not so good....
eastney hooker

Hi townsergeant, just looking at your 1/70 photo and i've spotted my cousin Jock Scade, as you know he went over to the other side of the corps. The latest I have on him is that he is somewhere in the Sheffield area. No other info available at this time. I joined in '77 and found myself answering to some big hairy bootnecks for a few of his tricks. On the other hand it did get me a few beers from old oppos.
Dan A

looking at that pic Jock you obviously had all the pies in your family!!
Dan
Hows my mate Mullan doing?

Hmmmmmmm - anything you want to tell us then Botty?

Justin Ameus Penrose Stupart was actually a bit of a runt and got bullied quite a bit in the early days of training, which is why he decided to take up body building. He had steroids and all that $hit.

Last I heard he died in a fire - was that a fact? Anyone know?
townsergeant

Cracking shot of Dave Bromley in the centre, 4ft 11in!

We were just boys, of course. I was 7st 7lb when I joined and quickly found that 3 meals a day would increase the waistline.

My weight nowadays is fine....the trouble is, I'm suppose to be 8ft 10in!

Yup Billy - I remember you as a whippet in the horn class, but only for about 2 days!

You were lucky though, Botty only lasted 1!!!!!!!

Justin Stupart....Muscle-Bosun....big mates with PTI's John Watts & Ted Kelland....Justin died in a house fire shortly after leaving the RMBS...

Paddy Wharry......as Irish as they come. Joined the Royal Irish Rangers, I think..

Johnny Gardner.......I've never seen anyone wash their hands as many times as he did! He used to do his Dhobi wearing a pair of Marigolds!

None of the above were ever rated..

Wasn't Dik Emery and Jonny Gardner big mates Bill? Just as an aside, when did Mogs Capewell join up, Ooh, as well as Coldbreath?

Quite probably!

Over to you Hornblower for info on the other two, probably from your era.

Hi Dan, reference the pies, my pie chomping days are over. I am now a lithe 34inch waist with a sub 13 stone(balding) figure, It's amazing what a new job, that doesn't revolve around the RMA Tavern, can do for a man. Mullan's ok but he needs you get in touch as his pc crashed and has lost all his e-mail contacts.
Yours aye,
Jock.
Hornblower

Quite right Billy, Mogs & Clodbreath were not just my era - but my intake. (3/69)

Check out the photo I posted elsewhere recently to see them in glorious 'smally-boy' vision.

I don't remember pies being served in the local curry house in Eastney!

Does anyone remember Paul Sykes being tied to a bed and left on the Dias in North Barraks late at night?
Co-admin

Yeah Nick - you didn''t dream it, I was there too. Bit of a strange one was Paul.

Why don't I remember your name? (Other than being so old and having lost so many brain cells to the demon alcohol that is.)

Stuey
Hornblower

Waitacottonpickin'minute...

I DO remember. Well now I see the 'B' at the end of your name I do.

I thought it was Nick Jones I was replying to and couldn't remember why I couldn't remember.

Leave me be, I'll be alright soon. (Or will I?)
Nick B

I was a Dogend too Stu!! TF & Ted and Glo.
Nick B

Then there was poor Clive Allison (Bass) he became a DL and got stabbed in Union Street.
Hornblower

Yeah - lovely chap was Clive.

You don't hear of the bad 'uns gettin' it do you?
Hornblower

You got any of that white mop left Nick?
Nick B

Not bad Stu holding up well but a little more 'Distinguished'

Actually, he got thumped outside a club, by a colleague of his, because he was being a dickhead. Fell down, hit his head on the pavement and died of his injuries.

(Myself and Taff Higgins went to his funeral at Lympstone)

The guy who hit him, was charged with manslaughter and found not guilty.
Nick B

Sorry Billy, I thought He was stabbed. Just shows how stories get distorted.
Hornblower

Just 'spotted' (geddit) that you drive trains for a living Nick. (Observant or what?!)

That's what ol' TJ Waters does too - d'ya ever see him closing on you at a closing speed of 100mph? (That's a lot of closing) (Sorry, just wanted to see how many times I could get the word 'closing' into a paramagraph.) (4)

Not a pretty thought, TJ hurtling towards ya at that speed...

Nick B

I see Trev in Deal sometimes Stu, but he drives Mainline and I drive the trains through the Channel Tunnel, so I hope we don't pass at 'Closing' speed! [/img]

If he looks in, he should bloody well log in and say hello to his ol' ship mates!

And I still wouldn't want to see him hurtling at me - not at any speed!!!

Just seen the picture posted by townsergeant of 2/70

What?..................Andy Henderson without Brian Allen anywhere nearby?

Can this be so?............

In my time at 'Pembroke', these two were like 'conjioned' twins.
David Duxbury-Williams

In Dogend land the Allen and Henderson show was legendary. Mirrored each other in everything (LRAM, house move - you name it)

Piccolo's still have sharp bit's.
