For those of you who spent many a happy hour in the Butzweilerhof barracks there is a website showing old pictures of when it was the second most important civil airport in Germany. The main building, with the eagle over the door, must have looked very impressive in its heyday.
There is no mention, however, of Narnia or the important part the RN Volunteer Bands played in the history of this site! (It was once an RAF station, by the way)

Aah, Butzweilerhof.

If I close my eyes, I can almost smell the heads.

All the times spent in the wee small hours walking assorted personages round the parade ground to try and sober them up.

All the sunset wets on the front door step.

The year of the mess cannon.

Richie T's 3 hour dit when he came back in taxi from Bonn at 3 in the morning,

And Narnia. Will there every be another? If our current accomodation is going to be long term we should consider purchasing some shrubbage to plant as a long term replacement.

It could have plaque and everything. Something along the lines of
'The Butzweilerhof memorial Narnia. In memory of lost beers. From with love from Mandy and friends'
