3 weeks to go
3 weeks to go

it's 3 weeks to go!

oh shouldn't that say marching shoes.... nah!!!!!!!!!
General Melchett

Or cowboy hat and water pistols eh Zed!

As ever, best of luck to NEPTUNE band and yah boo sucks to you fritzy to the rest of you!

Anyone who says any different will be deleted..... Ahh, the joys of unrestricted, un-impartial mod-ing!
EMMA

Good luck to one and all - see you there Zed!!

3 weeks - I have a feeling will go past very quickly!!!
greenfairy

I have super sparkly dancing shoes ready and waiting....sod the serious music part of it all - bring on the dancing!

now now GM..
firstly - cowGIRL hat and water pistol is just SO last year darling!! new outfit each year.. honestly!! *rolls eyes and tuts*

secondly - yah boo sucks... now that is not the spirit, however I will look deeper into it and I see your meaning.

yah is the posh way of accepting a drink from a fellow bandy / volly
boo is the sound we make when the bar shuts
sucks is how you get wine out of a bottle with 2 straws..

see, you are a nice chap really, what they say isn't true!!!
General Melchett

Cheers Zed, you are the first person to find any good in any of the rot I say; Neptune Band included!

Thanks for the support Melchy,
However I do remember something about Aeolian Modes...... Minor Nipples

Must get out and start marching soon; avoiding the damn midges!
The Donkey

I think we might have peaked too soon.

Rehearsal last night was actually quite good!
EMMA

Yeah ours seems to be coming together too as well, mind you Egor did say that about the marching that I didn't make in time for - mmmmmmmmm wonder if he's hinting about something there!!!
Wee Mac McDrums

Ah Melchy, unrestricted, un-impartial mod-ing!

You should have said, Make it up and busk it! then NEPTUNE c.o.d. would have been right with you!!!!

Unfortunatley were flying down this year, so we only have 90 minutes to come up with a drum display, rather than the usual 10 hous at the back of the coach!!!

I think I can safely say we're nowhere near peaking. In fact I can't even see a peak from here (must be a low cloud or something)

It'll all come together on the day, right?

You hear those imoortal words at your band to as well then, so do we............... I only hope that Egor's right!! It'll be fine, have confidence in ourselves and at the end of the day there's the party......

Fantastic! I LOVE Volunteer bands

I presume you are joking, however we once had a Bandy (who shall remain anon) who decided what concert pieces to play whilst on the coach to Band Fest.
Quasijock

Hey Gromit,
Mac never jokes. Many a drum routine has been decided on the coach trip down.
ZedHorn

guess it'll be a short static from neptune this year then!!!!
greenfairy

.......and will strangely sound like it's trying to emulate the sound of aeroplane engines......
Quasijock

I know Wee Mac is short, but he's very rarely static!
The Donkey

I think our guys may have gone a bit OTT with their drum static.

The orchestral percussion written in was ok, I started getting worried when the dancing girls appeared, but I think the straw that broke this donkeys back was the fireworks.

I didn't mind the noise so much, but I'm now covered in a mysterious purple dye....
Chrissie B

I'm a bit concerned about the plan to have our drummers playing while wing-walking as part of the Red Arrows display... not certain that Neil's stick drill is up to it!
The Donkey

V true.

Neil's stick drill isn't even up to his nose!!
ZedHorn

ha ha ha

memories of Vannes come flooding back!!!!
The Donkey

I met Neil's mum the other day.

Just thought you might like to know that he does actually have parents and wasn't just spawned from who knows what.
Gromit

erm - drum routine No one told Heron!

Let's hope there's a 'Best Fancy dress' trophy.
Wee Mac McDrums

I'm going dressed as a Royal Navy Drummer so there's no way your going to top that!!!!!!!!!!!
ZedHorn

hmmmmm... is that a challenge wee mac????
greenfairy

I reckon a bigger challange would be seeing if either of you could stay off the booze til you get to the party......
Quasijock

Party starts Thursday night through to Sunday
greenfairy

Good answer!
Wee Mac McDrums

I'd better start on Wednesday...... just in case there's a big que at the bar!

Still have to try and make a bloody fancydress, all the girlies in the band decided to go as characters from childrens bloody stories..... come on!!!......do I look like f*****g Goldilocks or Rapunzel?????????
greenfairy

Twill be easy to spot me in my costume....it's certainly not subtle!
General Melchett

Easy Mac - Rapunzel, you scruffy oik!

If you want a Tinkerbell outifit...................... I shall never be wearing that thing again, wings, wand and tiara!!!
greenfairy

I would pay good money to see that
Wee Mac McDrums

If you raise £100 for a charity of your choice....

I will attend as Tinkerbell!

(seriously)
greenfairy

Does the greenfairy Beer Fund count as a charitable cause
Wee Mac McDrums

I'd prefere you bought a new trophy for the festival.....

Best Scottish Band?

Best Scottish Drum Display?

Sexiest Drummer?

Tis the only way I'll be touching anything shiney!!!!
greenfairy

I can make you a trophy out of tinfoil if you want? Leaves more money for beer then....
tazwhit

Looks like im going to be missing out on all the fun!!
A

The party?
tazwhit

Yeah the party and the day
greenfairy

Well there's less than a week to go now *eeep*

Hope we get another day like today weather-wise as it's been lovely down here - sunny but not too hot (well the bits I saw when not marching up and down a drill shed or sitting in the hairdressers....how much for a flipping hair cut?!! Looks fab though but I digress.....)

See you all next week guys and gals (and lunatics) and remember.....mine's a JD & coke :

Quasijock

Hey GF, What happened to beer then ?
greenfairy

Beer won't match my outfit at the party!! Actually I'll be drinking cos it'll help me stay awake, make me want to dance more and lower the probability of me doing stupid things. And I won't need to pee every 10 minutes (but that's maybe TMI )

Will probably find time for a swift pint or two during the day at some point though.....
A

Bugger, that reminds me, outfit for the party....looks like I'm off to U Need Us some time this week!
ZedHorn

i wonder if that shop would ever survive if it weren't for band fancy dress requirements at frequent intervals throughout the year!!
ZedHorn

more like They need us to be honest!!!!
Apricot

I got half my costume in there *grin*
Apricot

Good luck to one and all for the volly festival this year, if I don't see you during the day I'll definitely see you at the party
A

They Need Us couldn't help me, darn it. However, Claire's Accessories could, and now I am all set to sparkle!!!!
tazwhit

Yeah good luck you guys and let me know how you get on.
Bet you'l have better weather than here in Benbecula!!
EMMA

Yep good luck everyone!! Hope the weather gets better too.

Good luck to all the soloists too - put it this way - Drake's is beginning to panic a bit now - oh it'll be fine on the day so they tell her - do you reckon she believes them???!!!

See you all at the party!!!!

Emma x
greenfairy

Wheeeeeeeeee getting excited now! Don't wanna go to work tomorrow though, would rather practise picc some more *eeep*

Neptune band are arrived safe & sound - just bumped in to Quasijock & friends in the bar.....quelle surprise!
andtroy

Andtroy
General Melchett

Good luck to all tomorrow, hope the weather holds out, feels a bit weird not being there and stressing about it all!
I'll be in Yprkshire somewhere with Scotland Band and Katherine Jenkins - so it won't be all bad.....
