Epaulette'sHeya everyone, bit of a random question. I was wondering if anyone had any spare shoulder slides for Nelson band. I've got allmy uniform but there are no slides at the moment, was wondering if I might be able to borrow some for the concert on Saturday evening.

sorry I'll be using mine! Quite a few people don't have any so don't be too worried, you'll have to ask Neil to get you some when he orders some more.

I heard one of the cornet players has an extra set - though I doubt you'll have much luck in borrowing them.
I haven't got any epaulettes either, neither has Ants or Annie. There's meant to be some on order, but as and when they'll arrive is another thing.

I didn't even have a badge for my No.s 1s for 8 whole years....you're complaining about lack of epaulettes???? 
It's a newbie thing, you don't have complete uniform til you've been doing this for a decade or more!

Now....if you had a proper Bandy (Like Ian Naylor) he'd make sure you had all your kit before you were expected to use it.

actually Sultan don't wear concert red sea rig with elephants like the rest of us!!! 
I've got 2 pairs.... one for me and one for my camel!!! so no-one can argue that it's not uniform or regi issue!!!

check out the calling horn players thread, page 11 or maybe 12.. pickie of No 2 and I, you can just make the left elephant out! not sure i have any better ones, not responsible for anyone else's pictures mind!!!

Processional elephant horn with detachable carriage. Four mouthpieces, two on the end of the trunk and one in each tusk, allow several people to play it at once.

I thought I'd managed to ditch that! Where did you find it? (BTW, there's no reward)
That elephant head smelt foul and I have to say that I got some very rude comments when I was stood playing it (at either end!)
Please be so kind as to e bay it or something and I will be billing you for the therapy I now need.
