For Mr Bass Trombone

Don't know about you but, even after all these years, I am unable to hear the song 'Singing in the Rain' without mentally shouting, "Hands In!"
Mr Bass Trombone

Know it well Chatham Dogends Circa Mid 70s Wheatly Hotel Doncaster no holds barred did hands in and a full monty was on view , the then DoM the late Peter Sumner and his lovely wife were there to witness this showing as were the girls choir that we had gigged with earlier(and some jigged with later ), we enjoyed it and there were no complaints from other quarters at all, in fact dear Peter used to bring up in conversation many a time, even after he retired and some old dogends went to see him in Doncaster it would come into the conversation. As a side Peter was on the beach in Kiel with us all on the day that Dogends became a Chatham Band call sign

MH

Is the beach you are referring to....the Nudist Beach?

If so, it wasn't in Kiel but on the German Island of Sylt.
(Still got the piccys)

That is where the lone German girl was sunning herself in the altogether, when along came Chatham Band on a day off, stripped down to our grins and encircled the poor Frauline.

All lying on our stomachs and getting sand in the most uncomfortable of places (for us 'Cavaliers' that is).

It's the Round Heads I feel sorry for!!!!
Mr Bass Trombone

Sorry to disapoint you Bob but I never went to the afore mentioned island , the Dogends were formed on Schoenberg Beach just North of Kiel, I think this was PAGSs last visit to the area, and it was a nudist beach but we didnt see any as I remember it was an overcast cloudy day, it doesnt really matter what location we was at we are among the many who can say we was there on National Dogend Day .
Adios Mi Amigo.

We did go the the island of Sylt and it was a nudist island, but we didn't get our kit off there - sorry Bob!

It was as Mick says, and the place was (I think) Leboe. There was also a big ol' submarine on a plinth if it helps to jog your memory.

You are right about the young fraulein though Bob - the thing I remember best about that was the fact that we trawled up and down the entire beach to find the best spot for spotting and camped at the end of her (open) legs.

She knew we were there (of course) and oh so slowly her legs came together to a big groan from the 10 or so of us.

It got to the point where we were scared to lay on our stomachs 'cos we could have been there sometime. Occasionally, a naked bandy would jump up after having made that mistake and run full tilt at the oggin to 'cool down'!!
