Gizzits!

As the ticker to Cologne is ticking down, and considering the hassle I had prior to last years trip, I wonder if now would be a good time to start thinking of 'Gizzits'.
Usually Gill & I go to the station PRO to get pens, zaps, posters, etc. However this year the cupboard was bare! The PRO on 824 Squadron promised me some stuff, but when it arrived (on the morning we left for Cologne!) it turned out to be a box of surplus Trafalgar 200 booklets, not exactly stuff for German kids to get excited about.
Has anyone got any ideas for, maybe, getting some zaps or pins made up. Obviously we would have to pay for them, but as the trip is virtually free anyway.....
Or perhaps those of you in Pompey, being the home of the Royal Navy, may have better access to the publicity goodies than us erks out in the far flung reaches of the British Empire?

start collecting the free CDs and DVDs they give away with the Sunday 'newspapers' I use that term somewhat loosely given some versions of the press... Tosh says they love 'em.....

*showing ignorance of all things Cologne-like* what's a gizzit?

well if you want things like badges or stickers and stuff and dont mind spending some cash. why not try contacting one of those compnaies that produce things like stress toys and badges. you could get some stuff printed up. my mum use dto work for one of those compnaies so i will have a chat with her to see if she has any contacts still.
anouther surjestion is to get someone to sponser us to pay for your gizzit's
ZedHorn

word on teh grapevine is there'll be barely enough money to take us all there.. any sponsorship we get will be to pay for the coach and the esseentials - BEER!!! so gizzits will haev to be donated as per....

I bought some pin badges on Air Day from the RN Benevolent Trust stall - little Booties, Wrens & Matelots - they are quite cute plus money went to charirty.

ZedHorn

everyday is a school day Apricot... and I say, if you are about to go to bed and you haven't learnt something.... don't go to bed, go do something crazy and learn something random... like the exact number of seconds to get from sofa to fridge to bottle opener, glass and back to sofa!

After reading Gromit's reply I found this website:

You can buy Jack or Jenny badges; unfortunately the booty doesn't have a pith helmet! And no officers or senior rates either?!?

Will be happy to take charge of any bits you offer... (that is if I am still allowed to travel to Koln). Can't think of any reason why not though: Can you?

Gromits Reply

Whilst informative - this reply was probably pinched !!!

Surely you must include the terms of being freely available and items which are not bolted down to anything!

I have a contact in recruiting office somewhere and will see what i can do - To whom shall i send things if i am successful?
I am getting a reputation throughout the Fleet for "locating" things thanks to previous boss!

Think im a closet scouser?? (No intended harm to scousers of course !)
ZedHorn

I'm sure BobW, The lady mayoress or the maddest tenor sax player in the west will take anything on offer off your hands!
