HMS Collingwood Cadet - Drum Corp...NEWHello All
I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know that the Collingwood Cadets are forming a drum corp which I will be running. It has taken just under a year to get funding for this and we now have some drums on order
I think the members of the Cadets would love to come and watch you guys practice one night, in particular if the drummers ever do a line up for practice (I am sure I have seen you out on the parade ground in the past) and don't mind some guest watching for some inspiration then please let me know?
I would also be interested to know what snare drum you drummers are using? For the Cadets we have had to go with a budget junior drum each due to cost, I am also personally looking for a drum to help teach the cadets and would prefer a full size drum. Have been looking at the various premier drums, (97, 97s 1049S etc) but would like to know what is being used and is it worth paying the extra for top snare?
My drumming experience is that of a rock band with a full drum kit, so this is a new exciting venture for me with the Cadets, any hints and tips from you drummers most welcome
Many Thanks, Paul.

Hi Caveman!
You'll find us bimbling up and down on Monday evenings from 7.30ish for about an hour. Next week we'll be practising our beat retreat on the lawn behind the Wardroom, but from the following Monday we should be back on the parade ground.
I don't know anything about drums ... I'm usually standing at the back and can't see them! But there are plenty of forum members who I'm sure will answer your technical questions!
See you in the counter march!
