Let's Be Nice To Craig Henderson

As the RNVB festival looms, sadly so does Craig Henderson's departure to HMRM Pompey Band. I have therefore decided to dedicate this post to 'Be Nice To Craig' and all nice comments to Craig will be most welcome before he sadly leaves us.

Meanwhile, what's the difference between Craig and a coconut?
At least you can get a drink out of a coconut.
greenfairy

I have to defend his honour there and say he bought 2 rounds last weekend (and of course I was there as I've got a nose for free drink )

It's hard being nice when he persists in dressing like a neopolitan ice-cream though
A

He's been a star helping me apply for a music admin job. He's agreed to be my referee and say lovely things about me.

Now all he has to do is keep his flaming shirt on
Apricot

Be nice to Craig post...

thinking...

thinking...

thinking...

OK being serious now:

Despite the fact he wears pink shirts, takes his shoes off during rehearsals and, on occasion, has a memory remarkably like that of a goldfish, he is a really good laugh and we do like him.

Plus he calls me girlie, which in my book makes him all good.
bootybandy

With a name like Apricot you couldn't be anything but girlie.....

Hmmmmmm... Fruity and stoned spring to mind as well...
A

How come you get called girly and I get called lesbian or high class hooker? He only ever calls me girly when he bloody wants something! Methinks this is a tad unfair!
greenfairy

He doesn't talk to me.

I think I have the best deal!
Astradyne

He gave you a lift home t'other night!

...though I imagine talking was impossible as he had the radio turned to ear-splitting levels - in a cabriolet!
greenfairy

My ears are still ringing
A

It's even worse when he insists on driving half naked.
sticky blue

bottom or top
A

Thankfully he only seems to have an aversion to keeping his shirt on
sticky blue

ahh well! that's something then -
Apricot

thanks!
A

Oh right I see, bask in the glow of being girly and feminine and everything whilst I have to make do with constant abuse!

Typical!

you mean to say you don't like that shagpile
Apricot

you love me really

By the way how was the pub? and as we seemed to be talking at cross purposes last night, where are you all going on saturday?
A

The Booties are going to get sunburnt on Whaley Island and we're all going to watch. I THOUGHT it was in the afternoon but it isn't so I'm not sure about that salsa thing.
Apricot

How come I never find out about these things?

no worries, but it was tango not salsa and after your clarinet lesson the other day you should know what tango looks like!

yeh....supposed to finish around 7.30 and by the time you get outta the island....
Apricot

tango thing starts at 8 so guess that means you ain't going then. No worries I'll go drool over certain latin types on my own. Besides I'll probably know the whole audiance as well as the cast!

Is this tango thingy you dancing or watching......
Apricot

Watching. I don't do tango (yet). Never perform dancing anyhow, too much like pressure, besides might actually have to practice then...
A

Aha! The tango! *Ahem* yes I was introduced to it!

I'm so sorry Apricot, I got my times mixed up! And I have to go to Whale Island otherwise Taz won't get her ticket.
A

Which is a point, I'd better remind him to pick the trophies up from the engravers.....
Apricot

like I said no worries. Anyway back to work for me...catch ya laters
A

I'll take lots of pictures for you. Enjoy tango!

might actually be a laugh for a girly night out.....tango/ salsa lesson
A

Nelsonians don't practice unless held at gunpoint!

The threat of craig shouting at marching practice is enough to make me practice.......

saying that...it was better last night and if I do say so we look alot better

If you wanna go latin dancing I know all the best places... :smt026

When I said practice I wasn't talking music! That's usually a case of turn up (occasionally) and play what's in front of me (often badly)...as A will verify cos she has to sit next /march next to me!
Dancing now that's a different matter entirely
A

I wouldn't say badly....just incredibly quietly!

Easier if you don't. It's a bit like tuning, our band tried that once a few years back and it was such a disaster we've not dared to try since.
Apricot

I was playing loud last night seeing as it was Craigy's clarinet I was using
A

That thing is like a foghorn. How he can get a note out of it using the planks that he calls reeds....
Apricot

I noticed. Why does it do that? but you could actually hear me for once!!!
A

You could! Lovely umchugs you had going there Apricot my dear! And it was nice not to be alone on the twiddlies!
Apricot

yeah, I just love umchugs!
ANTS

now if i didn't know you were talking clarinet playing here........
Apricot

why what else could we possibly be discussing?
(she asks in all innocence)
A

Aw, you've played rep cornet parts before haven't you Ants? umchug umchug umchug umchug....

I once heard the highest suicide rate in bands are 2nd/3rd clarinets and cornet and horns....wonder why!?
A

'Hey, have a look at my parts, I've got lovely umchugs....'
Astradyne

Sod those umchugs! I'll leave all that malarky to the low brass!

But then again I'm kinda shooting myself in the foot there as I pinched the solo tenor horn dots to play - well, someone has to PLAY them (and on a massively more credible instrument at that) - and they certainly can't!
Pompey Rich

It's official. Craigy and other Horseguards escapees are over here for the Isle Of Wight Rock festival this weekend. I will eagerly await the return of my wife who is also attending and will no doubt inform me of what he's not wearing. He was also semi naked (top half thank God) at last years scooter rally over here. : Stand by for a full report. Oh by the way. Some of us can't go to the festival as were all at work banging up criminals this weekend. Who fancies being in prison in this weather?

Now there's a statement
Astradyne

Pompey Rich wrote:

Hmmm... so that means you won't see both Craig or Suzi Quatro together in the same place!
Pompey Rich

Never mind Sadaam Hussain Hang On. What about Sadaam Hussain Hang Him. Strangely enough I would like to hang people all day. But that's enough about management what about inmates? God I'm suffering with this heat. It makes me drink so much water which has been laced with fermenting apples.

Wouldn't we all mate... ..Wouldn't we all...

But in this weather, they're better hung in a cool dry place to prevent their bullshit drying out too quickly.....

Actually, rep parts aren't too bad as they mainly mimic 1st. Its 2/3rd cornet parts that are as boring as hell

does your wife go through any special training in watching mens semi naked bodies!!!!
A

If she does, can you please tell me how to get onto the course?
greenfairy

But A, they'd proabaly make you look at the bad as well as the good. Which possibly wouldn't be worth the trauma *shudders*
ANTS

depends where the training is undertaken.......
bootybandy

A

Back to topic for a change, I shall have to be very nice to him in the library tomorrow as he is poorly.

Although, what does the silly sod expect if he eats takeaway burgers from a caravan at a music festival?
greenfairy

D'ya know I almost gave him a hug earlier he looked so poorly
Pompey Rich

The poor wee hungover chappie. I wonder if he'll be dropping out of marching aswell as others?
A

I almost hugged him as well, poor thing. I'd rather have hugged him then listened to his detailed description of his bodily functions, that's for sure!
greenfairy

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one

And you know if you tell him I will kill you
ANTS

he is as rough as hell at the moment....I came out the band room just intime to see a new form of graffiti being undertaken by Mr H....

i knew he didn't normally have to dart 'that quickly' after rehearsals...

poor chappie...!!!!
A

He's sent me a text saying that he spent over 12 hours in bed and now feels a bit better.
ANTS

Thats good cos he didn't look good at all last night....I wouldn't wish that on anyone
A

He's feeling a bit fragile now but is doing ok. He's looking less beige and more like his usual orange, and is keeping most things down.
ANTS

i think I am going to nick-name you nurse'y
A

It's better than Mrs H.
Astradyne

Nurse, the screens!
Aaron Aardvark

A

Apricot

I thought we were supposed to be being nice to young craigy on this post, especially if he's all poorly.
A

We are!
Pompey Rich

Craig ill my harris. Hungover more like
greenfairy

He was ill. Now he's better we've been taking the p!ss again. All is right with the world!
A

He deserves everything he gets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
tazwhit

Don't forget you're still ment to be being nice lol
Pompey Rich

Ahhhhhh. Have all you girlies got a soft spot for Crai gy
greenfairy

Darlin I have such a huge crush on Craigy it's unbelievable. In fact I think he might have to replace one of the guys in my sig he's so freaking hot
A

Don't listen, she's got sunstroke.
greenfairy

I think I was getting him confused with the other Scotsman I love deeply (who rang us up in the restaurant tonight during dinner )

Or else I just forgot to switch my sarcasm off again.
Apricot

yeay for Craigy-boy, where would we get all our daft quotes from without him???
greenfairy

And who else would give me lifts home from rehearsal so I don't miss too much of the footie?
Apricot

I noticed, you ran out so fast you didn't even say bye last night!!!!
greenfairy

And after all the rushing it was a pretty crap match
