Looks different!

We hope you all like the new look of the forum.

To the left you will see the menu box containing:

Below that is a Quick search

Below that, Links to our main site and Richard Valentine's site

The who's on line box is below that and a google search below that.
Everything is there and more accessible all of the time rather than having to keep moving from window to window.

Now that the new look forum with easier navigation is in place I did a little bit of tidying up and merged a few topics and deleted one with no interest earlier today.
The volunteer band section has been enhanced and extended after a phone call from one of the VBIs and a long chat with him about their requirements.
If anyone has any ideas for tidying up the main area, merging topics or sub dividing topics then please voice your ideas here.

Many thanks for all of your posts and the interest shown so far. In the short time this forum has been live it has quickly bloomed into a young and thriving community and this is all due to your interest and input... Many thanks

Another new feature was added at server level today and the integration has gone very smoothly, it is the 'Quick reply' box at the bottom of the topics. You can still click on the reply if you want all of the smilies and codes (Img, b, i etc) but if you just want to post a very quick text response and nothing else just type it into the Quick Reply box and hit submit. If at any time you want to switch modes click the preview button and then you'll be able to see how it looks and get all of the advanced features and smilies
Hornblower

Cool! (He said, typing into the quick reply box)
MrJpig

hey look IT WORKS IT WORKS!!!

Like the new folder Icons?

Subtle enough for you all?

Added another slight tweak just now (with guidance from the host!).
If you lok at the member list you will see there is a 'Date Last Visited' field. If it says "Never" it means that they have registered and never come back!
General Melchett

Deli, at your age you should not need guidance from a host to give yourself a little tweak now and again - and really, advertising it on the interweb thingy is unforgivable!
Aaron Aardvark

My thoughts exactly.......and the new quivvery quaver thingys are slightly worrying dont you think. They look all aggitated.
bootybandy

That's the way I remember seeing Quavers most of the time on board the Ark Royal.. Hic....Booty :O)
FFoglamp

I remember them on the Ark Royal too. The Naafi guys used to smuggle them in by the box load. Bit too cheesy if you ate too many.

So there you have it, the answer to Hornblower's "what is too much".

Quavers !

I undersand that you can get more than one flavour these days ???
Is this true ?
bootybandy

I used to put Orange Clubs in the fridge and share them with Pete Usher.....Booty :O)
Aaron Aardvark

Gosh that was jolly daring of you. Did you actually eat them or play strange games with them when they had gone hard?
Hornblower

Oh so slowly peeling back the 'wrapper'...
Aaron Aardvark

oh yes and then taking a nice orangy bite oh what fun i do miss the silly games
FFoglamp

Talking of food, some one on FOF 3 (1985), ate some Maltesers ANALLY one night ?

mmmmmmmmmmm...........is anally a word ?
bootybandy

You've all got it wrong. I used to munch away at the chocolate outer, leaving the orange flavoured covering until last, and then sensually sucking that until it disappeared..Ooooh Bliss....Booty :O)
Aaron Aardvark

Bleugh At least have a minty one.......it leaves one's breath much fresher
FFoglamp

Now this really is spooky.

The bum munching malteser bandit who was actually unconcious at the time and will remain nameless, is actually celebrating his birthday today !!!!!

Sorry, not spooky, more like sad (me, that is)
Aaron Aardvark

OH is it your birthday Ffoggy HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLD CHAP
bootybandy

Mint may leave your mouth fresher if you've had loads of ants for breakfast, but Orange was my favourite....Booty :O)
bootybandy

Yeah Happy Birthday Mark....Booty :O)
FFoglamp

Gee Thanks, but my birthday is 29th August, born on same day as Michael Jackson, and Lenny Henry, and another guy I know near Leicester.

Besides I have never eaten maltesers from the bottom up.

(only curly wurlys) (ouch !!!)
bootybandy

Michael Jackson?? is there something you're trying to tell us Mark? (McCauley Caulkin - Marky Biddlecombe !!!!) Spooky....Booty :O)
Aaron Aardvark

Deli has more in common with Michael Jackson......he set fire to his head too once you know....he did
Co-admin

They put my head fire out with a spade though!

Jacko had a plasitc surgeon, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another
bootybandy

Jeez..and I thought you were naturally good looking....Booty :O)

All I did on my birthday this year was have one beer and go to bed early.

I've spent most of the afternoon and evening trying to pull the two sites into a closer look by styling the forum to look more like the rest of the website. A new banner and the links mirror to the rest of the site to hopefully bring the whole thing together. I'm really please with the banner at the top and hope you all like it as well. It took some doing as I am having to work in a method that I am just not used to. Most of it is done behind the scenes with quite serious testing carried out before giving you all the new look.
There could be an issue with font size as this type of coding relies very heavily on CSS and that controls the way you see things rather than your browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox) dealing with font size. I am on this and trying to find which part of the code affects which part of the forum. There are coders hints there but as I am not a coder it may as well be written in Swahili.

Thank you all for your continued support and input, all suggestions are welcome.
MrJpig

Asante (Thank You)
lesbryan

Well | it all looks well to me deli just had a good half hour on the home site listening to a few downloads and looking at a few pici's looks good

A new feature has just been added and I hope you like it.
If you look at the bottom of the area when you go to post you will notice a new "Add image to post"

When you click on it you will get the following pop up window appear:

You need to find the photo you have just saved or created onto your computer so browse until you find the image and add some text. Then click the upload button, please note: NO NUDITY!
The code will then automatically be inserted in your reply for you.

I am currently finishing off the coding and I hope it will go live within the next hour or so. Keep them peeled as this will make posting any pictures a lot easier for all users.
