MFM 2008 music suggestions...

Anyone got any ideas we can suggest for us to perform at MFM 2008? Anything that could be arranged?
greenfairy

I've plenty of suggestions, but alas none of them are serious ones!

Will have a think on it though - mum suggested the Osmonds greatest hits but feel free to ignore that totally while I disown her

On a sensible note, and yes I do do them every now and then, my favourite piece of music ever is Albinoni's Adagio. I know you did it half a dozen or so years ago, but I do like it.
Gromit

A tribute night to Glen Osser .......??

Gromit

OK - on a sensible note, Ennio Morricone has written music to die for:

The 1981 theme tune to 'The Life and Times of David Lloyd George - Chi Mai (I am)

Gabriels Oboe from The Mission

Moving on: - Macarthur Park with super C Trumpets
greenfairy

Randomly unrelated note - like the new look Gromit....very swish!
Bobw

Hoe Down! - Aaron Copeland

Another Ennio Morricone piece - L'Arena from The Mercenary (Italian: Il mercenario) - Weird percussion to start, then a nice piece for flute, some mexican trumpeting and something for the Corps of Drums to slow march to (perhaps wearing sombreros!)

Hopefully you mean 2009.
Pedantry aside how about the brilliant trombone solo Sambezi by Philip Sparke

On a quick note,
How about inviting 4barsrest along for another review.  They seemed to enjoy it 2 years ago!
bassdrumal

A solo on Bass Drum - it goes........

Boom, Boom, Boom Boom, Boom Boom, Boom

Yes, I know, it sounds a little like a poem from Blackadder!

I don't believe I missed a chance for pedantry. Bugger.
No, I do believe I missed it, because it happened and I was there.
What I mean is, I'm upset that I missed it.

Anyway, another suggestion for music; Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence. I've no idea if there's a suitable arrangement though.

How about some tunes from one of the big West End shows, e.g. Hairspray or the Jersey Boys?
Bobw

That one was already in the melting pot but it is very nice to see that people still remember
Sweet Kolonia has a certain ring to it... BigAl dressed in his best Elvis outfit backed by the FDFCDDT (Fancy Dress Festival Costume and Drinking Display Team) and the Massed Bands       Ja, ja, ja will have to be done by the trombones though
