Mobile PhoneSorry to disapoint the burgalars branch but the phone incident was not John Satchwell, it was as we all now know the one and only MJ, but I will now relate the story of when and where.
MJ to the late Chris Taylor, phone call sir, who is it Sgt J Mr Kendrick sir. Band long gone rolling around with laughter, the place, the Oval Cricket ground Hobart Tasmania, Circa mid to late Seventies. What a good gig we were given a wonderful looking after by the Aussie Army Band from Townsville only to reciprocate on our return to the UK as a couple of months later they came over for the RT. Well treated by the locals as well, played a few games of so called cricket with them. I am sure that a certain now B/C/SGT was probably the first streaker that Tasmania had ever seen, no names but he plays Clarinet and is a Pompey lad. Lots of fun as you can imagine
Adios Mi Amigos .

I'll confirm Mick's recollections. I was sat in the stand watching the rehearsal as I'd got a gammy toe caused by playing football from which Boots had banned us. Didn't tell him that though.

He was our Sgt Major in Training... firm but fair is all I can say. He was a decent bloke so far as we were concerned. His sense of humour was very dry and I'd not put that telephone jape past him at all. He went on to be our bandmaster at Fleet as well. I got on well with him and have recently had emails from him.

Hi Max, It's been a long time. I was wondering how long it would take you to notice it! Great to hear from you anyway. I guess you may have some sort of copyright claim to it. Well I've looked after it. Must be 26 years old now!! Looks like it was drawn on parchment. I am preserving it in a suitable frame anyway.
I made contact with Andy Crick not too long ago. I'll try and drag him on here. I think he's just a little shy.
(Sorry to Hijack the thread Mr BT). I'll get my coat!!
