If it is '67/68, and judging by the above quote, it's the one and only John(you can call me Drum Major for short) Porter...

I can't make out any of the faces unfortunately, but it is an old pic..

I've met John, he looked smart when I saw him but I never imagined he'd look that good in rig. He has that presence...

A very humorous (and loud) man..A pleasure to be shouted at by...

I think that may be Arthur Yorkstone (judging by the size) , front centre bulger..
Hornblower

Hey Rab!

Glad you got some folks of your own era to glimp at!!!

(Then when you do, you don't know any of 'em!!!)

..Ohhhhhhhh..I KNOW them alright... I just can't bloody see them,,(even with 3 pairs of specs on and a pair of empty Guiness glasses angled towards my screen)..Basil Fawlt errrrrr..sorry Kidd has a lot to answer for...

Anyhoo.. I think I'm correct in thinking you would be at LEAST at audition stage by'68...??????
Hornblower

Bugger off...
Hornblower

And don't say something like, "Oooh touched a nerve did I?"

('cos maybe you did )
Pusser

Drum Major John Porter was a complete gent. There was a 'legend' floating about saying, when he inspected the front rank of drums one day asking for each individual's name every bugler said, "Bugler Smith, Drum Major."

Having reach the fourth Bugler Smith he stepped back, stared along the rank and said, "Here.............one of you b******* is having me on!"

The Drum major is John Porter a true gentleman.
Centre bugler is not Arthur Yorkstone as it is to early for him, class of 65/66 buglers on the front row

Ahaaaaaaaaah.. The mystery unfolds..From memory this Band must include the Fred Knells, Jeff Pickering and of course yourself Mr Scrumps..(always did get you and your brother's names mixed up)..

Soooooooooo..No Mr JPig, I'm not in the pic, as it's more likely to be '67,and I'd just joined up then..
Hornblower

OK Rab you're excused! (Vindicated)

Your good name's intact and you're not falling to Alzheimer's - YET!
