Craigyboy's Leaving Run

Spoke to him yesterday about it.

Anita's plan of a Spanish boozecruise is tempting but out. We can't see enough people wanting to go.

Similarly, we're not going to Guzz or wherever it was someone suggested, as not many of us will want to go.

So, Craigybaby is happy with a meal (for the elderly and teetotal) and then the more adventurous of us will go out somewhere to get shiters and experience Craig's unique dancing style.

Drop it like it's hot, baby!

We're planning this for sometime in September, maybe a bit earlier. I know greenfairy is up for going, and I have no doubt you'll be there Rich?
Pompey Rich

Who needs a leaving run when the mad jock fairy seems to be on a permanent one? Just don't let him come to the IOW Scooter Rally this year. Boy can he pogo to punk bands.
greenfairy

And there goes unwanted mental image of the day number one!
admin

A pogoing drunk Jock fairy?

Sounds like a normal dream to me
greenfairy

Calling him a fairy is an insult to us real fairies anyway
Pompey Rich

Yeah but if we call him a little jock poofter that might upset him
greenfairy

You do realise you confused the band by calling me green fairy. They thought you mean him in that t-shirt
Pompey Rich

I must admit it was hard to tell you two apart
greenfairy

It's not that hard - he's much prettier than I am.

I have a better haircut though
Pompey Rich

And a lot younger
greenfairy

Thank you for stopping me from feeling old and haggard! I'm 25 next year, it's scary. Still, I have my mental age of a three year old to help me out
sticky blue

I'm 54 with a mental age of 5 but I don't let it worry me
A

And a lot less like a gorilla.
Pompey Rich

The Final Solution

When Craig is leaving tell him it's his round as as a typical Jock he will run for miles. Hence, Leaving run. Geddit innit?
A

I have taken all suggestions both from here and discussions about the leaving run.

And I have to say, they're all bloody genius.

Now all we need are the props!

The older you get the younger you want to feel....
Apricot

Right so seeing as its the last rehearsal for a while next week (sniff) are we are any nearer to knowing what date Craigy wants his leaving run on?

I realise a time and location is too much to ask at this stage!!!
A

It's going to be in September I believe, probably at the end of handover week.

And getting dates and locations out of Craig is like getting right notes out of a viola player. It doesn't happen very often, so it's a shock when it does.
greenfairy

Anyone would think he didn't want us to take him out and totally humilate him get him drunk
A

Right my lovelies, 5th of September, whack it into your diaries!
greenfairy

I'll let you be my diary and remember for me. It's easier that way
A

I may as well be a walking Nelson Band diary!
greenfairy

You shouldn't be so organised then!
A

True.
Apricot

Well someone has to remember and lets face it that someone ain't gonna be our Craig now is it!

does craig have it in his diary???
Also is there still plans for the photo idea as a leaving prezzy. If you wanna get the Kew photo blown up and framed, I don't mind chipping in...
A

That's the plan. I may have to ask Deli if he still has the disc with it on, as the photo I have is blurred.

BTW, it's a TOP SECRET prezzie, so don't go blabbing anybody!

as if....I'm not like some members of the band!!!!
greenfairy

I'm feeling out of the loop again
A

I'll PM you too.
greenfairy

*yay*

A

There you go my lovely.
greenfairy

Thanking you
A

Are you more looped up now?
greenfairy

Not yet as I've not gotten round to reading it!
A

Tweedle Twins.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
greenfairy

Scary!
A

It'll all make sense....
greenfairy

No, it's just a scarily accurate thought.
A

greenfairy

I need a mind-bleaching
A

I've got such funny images of the Walrus and the Carpenter!
greenfairy

That's just not good

*bangs head on desk to get rid of the mental images*
A

BTW Dress is smart casual.
greenfairy

WTF?! I don't understand the concept of smart-casual. It doesn't fit on my scale

Posh frock - dressed to the nines
|
Smart - jeans & blouse, skirt & top that kind of thing
|
Casual - scrappy jeans & t-shirt
A

Skirt (shock horror) or nice jeans, going out on the town type top.

I feel out of the loop here too????????????????
A

Private message is on it's way!
A

tis sent.
greenfairy

Anyone else feeling left out? No?! Good
A

I'll get carpal tunnel syndrome from all this PMing otherwise, and you'll have to spoon feed me with banoffee pie!
greenfairy

You won't catch me anywhere near banoffee pie as it's horrible
A

All the more for me then!
greenfairy

Go for it.

I'll stick with a helping of this thanks
A

Not if I throw banoffee pie all over him!
greenfairy

There are some things I can put up with banoffee pie for actually!
A

That's dedication for you!
greenfairy

Yup, but who wouldn't?
ANTS

A wrote:

you can't waste a good banofee pie by throwing it.....its my fav..!!!
A

I'll throw the banoffee and keep the lemon meringue pie.
greenfairy

I'll keep the Deppster. Much more tasty
A

Right you horrible lot. I need some RSVPs from you so that I know numbers.

Rich, the CoD is invited too, but only if you behave.
greenfairy

I din't think I had to RSVP cos I wasn't aware of having a choice in the matter! Wink:
A

No you don't, you're quite right. But Astradyne etc have to let me know!
Astradyne

I think I'm meant to be in Lewes on the 5th, but that (still) hasn't been confirmed yet, as well as any rehearsal dates running up to it.

Until they sort themselves out, I'll say yes, put me down for that one.

If they let me know with short notice (eg. after 20/8/06) then I'll tell them I'm already booked up, and still come along for the leaving do.
Apricot

yeay, one more to add to the chaos, oh I mean fun!!!

should be ok, depending on what you are planning. (Still ahve to be careful after the Op!!!)
A

Just a normal restaurant meal for the older ones and invalids, then night out on town optional.
ANTS

Count me in, at least for the meal....I will see how things are going nearer the time before I commit to a 'night on the town'
greenfairy

I haven't enough holiday to take the next day off so a night on the town is out for me [/grownup hat]
A

Hangovers are what sick days were invented for.......
General Melchett

GF - Attend, eat, drink and be merry. The morning after - get up, consume brufen and quit your manking! What are you, flautist or fairy?
A

You heard the man!
greenfairy

We'll see how things are nearer the time. Considering how much I hate my job, going in feeling tired and rough is more likely to make me tell them to sod it all and walk out.
Astradyne

Fortunately I don't go into work on Wednesdays, though the chances are I'll be knackered by Tuesday evening and I also won't be able to drink as I have to drive back home afterwards. But I'm used to that, so it's not a problem.

I'm meant to be at a rehearsal on that night as well, but missing one rehearsal won't do me any harm - it's the rest of the band that need rehearsals and they still won't get any better!

I still haven't heard anything about the Lewes thingy either.

Hey GF....he's right, a couple of brufen and lots of water....then go back to bed for an hour, you'll wake up feeling great!!!!
A

Just don't drink much alcohol.
Apricot

This is Green Fairy we're talking about... (I don't mean it really)
greenfairy

I don't drink much really. Only when I'm miserable.

Bugger, I'm screwed then
Apricot

how can you possibly be miserable in our company? especially as A and Craigyboy will no doubt be coming up with new candidate phases for quote of the week???
A

Bog off poopoohead!

Absolutely charming! I make a passing observation about the likelihood of muchess mirth and merriment (in a nice way) being exuded by our beloved A and she posts that.

That's me off home to cry in the corner now

**sculks off of sulk**
A

Don't backpeddle! You were noting my tendency to say really stupid comments that make everyone else choke with laughter when I'm being perfectly serious!

For which I do seem to have a talent!
A

*NEWSFLASH*

Top floor of the Wine Vaults is booked for 1930 of Tues 5th of September.

I booked for 20-30 people, thankfully the manager is happy for me to be as vague as I like until after the rehearsal the day before.

yeh.....looking forward to it...
Apricot

Yeay.

A, have you heard from Taz? I texted her last week and it looks like she's coming along.
Apricot

Ants,

here you go. Address and location so you know where you're going.

http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/25/25291/Wine_Vaults/Southsea

Should be good.

yep, she was going on about being short of money etc, but I think she is coming. Have only spoken to her afew times on txt since I got out of hospital.....i think the new job is taking its toll on her
A

At the music shop? Has she said what it's like?
Apricot

Not keen I think, too much travelling.
A

That's a shame.
A

The RSVPs have started coming in, we've got quite a few now.
ANTS

Apricot wrote:

I travel an hour each way to work and you can still make time to go out and have fun.....you just need to be more organised

I don't think she'll stay at the shop. Infact I think she is already looking around!!!!
Apricot

A.

The meal - update.

GF has the list of people, there are now a few more! I wrote the details up on the whiteboard (how sensible and organised is that!!!)

Will text you if any more bods come back to me.

Does everyone know it's paying for yourself and not the band fund paying?
Perhaps our new bandie ought to anounce it in the parish notices at the end of rehearsal on monday GF? or whatever, entirely up to you, I'll see you guys on tuesday.
greenfairy

Don't look at me, I'm not in charge of anything!!! I'm just looking after the list til A is back to do the organisating.
A

I'm going to ring the Craigster tomorrow to talk to him about announcements and such, and if he has a complete list, I'll ask him to text me the final numbers so I can ring up.

Payment is def. worth mentioning.
greenfairy

Can I chicken out yet?

And A, I've got the list - I'm not sure what Craigy knows people-wise
