Posting of Cologne photosHi guys! Got my sensible head on, although how I've managed it I've no idea as I've not been awake for long since leaving the bus! Just wanted to post a caution about posting photos from the trip, particularly on public forums like this one and facebook etc. This topic has been raised with me already, both on the bus back and since getting home and seems to be a valid point. My suggestion is that we seek permission of those in photos if there is anything that someone might not want the world and his aunty seeing. Many of us have work contacts on facebook accounts etc and while nothing untoward happened on the trip (that I know of!), there will be photos that could be easily misinterpreted or potentially damage reputations by anyone who wished to do so.
Dolly will start work on hosting a site specifically for Cologne photos in the near future which is likely to be password protected and therefore safe to post on. Once we've got details of it we'll let you know.
Any thoughts on the matter or suggestions? (polite ones only please! )
Thanks guys and sorry for being boring! Now, where is my bed ...........

Fair point, well made. Have removed my album until permission granted - thanks Anne and Dolly.

I've not posted any exciting photos on Facebook but my profile thingy is all set to max privacy anyway so only friends can see it.

Note to self. Next year, take a camera.

But would a camera fit in your piccolo pocket?

damn it you're right again!!!
Have only posted pictures I believe people would be ok with being shared! Untagging is simple and as the fairy says, privacy settings are avalable for limited profile people etc etc.
If anyone is particularly embarrased by any of my photos please let me know.
anyone else feeling remarkably normal this morning... I'm at work, i don't hurt, my throat's a bit croaky but actually I'm ok...

it feels strangely wrong to not have a hipflask thrust in my direction every 5 minutes. I think I need to go out and buy a bigger one just to make the withdrawls less!
*passes virtual hipflask around*

thankyou fairy - that's a fine vintage virtual rum you have in that virtual hipflask...

No Zed - there is nothing about me that feels 'normal'! I've been awake for 5 hours since 3pm yesterday and I'm still tired and broken. My knees are refusing all stairs, I've had to remove the bottle of Morgan's Spiced from the optic in the kitchen as my head can't take it and I'm getting regular flash backs of the most bizarre, but definately real images. And I miss everyone badly! It is too quiet and all my crazy has gone. Roll on Koln 2009

Indeed. As moderator I must hand out an informal warning against unjustifiable, outbursts of such a crassly harsh nature. Highly out of character Stig.

Stig,
thanks for your input, as informative as ever!
Photos... I can set you up a membership area with one of yourdselves as a gropu moderator (i.e. you add members to that group. The photos would have to be hosted off site, photobucket etc. You could just set up a photobucket account with one password that you all know.

Thanks Admin - I'll ask Dolly to get in touch with you as he was talking about us hosting it from our set up at home. It would be great to have a protected, restricted access area for photos, but Dolly is your man (unless anyone else wants to do it), as I know nothing about these things.

No problem virginpiper - welcome! No idea who you are but I'm guessing you've been away with us. If you put a new thread in the 'Introduce yourself' section, people will know you are around and will add their own welcomes. Bye the way, anonymity is fine!

Would that be Scottish Anne?
My 1st Cologne trip this year
|
Anne Picc
|
Yup - that would be me. The photo of me on here is what I normally look like with more than 3 hours sleep a night, a healthy liver and without a lifetime supply of hairspray to keep my hair under my hat. I can understand why you didn't recognise me!

S'ok - my pic isnt that accurate either

Good to know - I'm sure we would have noticed a hamster on the trip, but then again ......

Good point well made Anne - Though i would "hope" people are sensible enough to work out whats right and wrong to post - not that i mind of course as i was in bed each night by 10pm and got a full 8 hours sleep after reading my Gideon Bible!
I must say though, i do miss it all very much, the fun, laughter and odd moments. Im still nursing my bruises - well laughing about them anyway. Did think it odd this morning, when i put on my rig, went to work and didnt have a slug of whiskey from a plastic bottle and to check i had my hip flask!!!!
