I must bow down and almost swallow a wee bit of humble pie...

Last night i went to my bosses retirement do, he's a jock and they had a piper play a few wee toons. I recognised most of them from some vision and vague memory of a gig or 9 over the channel. It was only on listening so attentively that I realised that 'our pipers' are actually bl**dy good as this one had definite metrnome problems and a distinct lack of those nice little embelishment notes! THis does not mean that I think tuning up or drum ratatating outside the barracks at 7am when I've barely slept is in anyway less annoying, but you rock all the same!

Now, where did I put my pills...

If you have heard a number of loud thuds of late, don't worry it was the sound of pipers and drummers fainting in amazement!!!!

We are delighted and amazed that someone so learned as yourself should appreciate what a melodious and rhythmical bunch we all are.........its taken years for us to achieve that!!

Now I could be cynical and ask why..............has the Cologne fund run out of beer money, there is always whisky on the pipers coach!! Had Zed been drinking whisky and in the morning after afterglow gone all melancholic?? I know, the piper obviously played something other than Highland Cathedral!!!

Oh Well, keep the compliments coming Zed, they are all gratefully received, I'm sure there will be a wee dram or two awaiting

I also play Jock tennor drum (and I have playd with some dodgy jock bands) so I know that RNPS rock!

nope - he played Highland Cathedral as well as about 16 bars of everthing traditionally jock that the gathered throng may have heard of... just it was pants!

It could well have been that the lack of Kolsch, sweaty nos 1 collar and about 70 others crammed on a miniscule stage all trying to play as loud as possible had something to do wit the lack of 'ambience'!!!

don't do whisky but i'll settle for a drop of brrr rrr RUM!

Hello ZedHorn, yup, DP1 is taking his pills and potions in readiness. Frst off we're gonna hit Sicily on Boxing Day for a warm up session. Bit of a hard run what with 3/4star hotels, 3 meals a day, etc. The easy bit is deciding what time to fall out of the pit in the mornings. Still, I think I'll manage just about. Tak it easy. Dave.
