Stanely Glasspoles Grandaughter

Hi, I'm Shona Emordy and i'm one of Stan's four Grandaughters. I'm the youngest one but i wasn't the GLP (Gramps Little Princess - that was Laura i think). I'm 25 now and love finding people who knew my Gramps as i'm determined that he should never be forgotten.

I play the flute and the recorder . Many years ago now i played with the Broadstairs and St Peters Concert band with many people who knew him.

Hi Shona,
I have very fond memories of Stan... sitting in the instument repair shop in East Barracks slaving away on miniscule details to some instrument he was working on. He'd never let it go until it was perfect! He would always have time to stop and chat to us (then) youngsters and offer words of wisdom and encouragement.
His pantos were another one of his facets... we often wondered where he got the ideas from.
A true gent and a great loss to everyone.

Ditto Shona..

Very fond memories of Stan in his 'other' role. A very talented technician, and a brilliant panto producer.

Well done you for posting in here and reviving some treasured memories.

Hello Shona. Unfortunately your Grandad passed away before I got involved in Sgts Mess Pantos, but his memory lasted for eons. I was however under training when he was still in the Instrument repair shop in the Nissen Huts in East Barracks where many a happy time was spent discussing the finer points of Saxamaphone set-up. He was a gent in more ways than I can recall and a very fine producer of Pantomimes. Thanks for posting on this site, and please visit often....

Hi Shoana,

Stan fixed me up a few times, so glad you are keeping his memory going.
