Sultan Volunteer Bandies

Hi Anyone,
Are there any other Sultan Vol Bandies (pat or present) following this forum? Look forward to seeing you at tomorrow's Families Day gig - hope it's not too sunny.
'Spect all you young techies are at Phil's Bowling Bash this evening.

None as yet! Which is a shame!
admin

John, spread the word amonst the flock and I'm sure they'll start joining in. I KNOW there are a lot of lurkers...
musicmad

Hello there!

Co-admin

I bumped into one of your drummers the other day.

Get them all on site!
musicmad

who was that?
A

Um....oh bugger he'll kill me if I forget his name!

Tall, dark hair, glasses, numerous tats, northern. Skinny thing!
geekygirl

Make that 3 of us here from Sultan! I have been lurking for a while and thought i should finally say hello
greenfairy

Christy it's a mini-invasion!

And a good job to!
A

Race you to the first band to make 200 threads!
greenfairy

Somehow I think that's slightly unfair. Not everyone can talk as much crap as we do!
admin

Welcome geekygirl, nice to meet you.
Another lurker's posting cherry taken and another voice to talk to. We have a bunch of Sultanas now! If we add in Apricot we have a vollie band fruit salad. You might be bigger than Collingwood at this rate!
sticky blue

Welcome geekygirl - have fun - give my regards to Ian Naylor ask him if he still plays the pinball machines
geekygirl

Sounds like there is a story there that Ian has neglected to tell me in the pub! And i thought we must have heard most of them by now.

I think it'll take us a while to beat the number of posts from Nelson or the number of registered users from Collingwood but there are a lot of us, so if just a few more register......

And hi John. I hope Families day went well, unfortunately some of us were stuck at work

Guten tag guys, just thought i would pop in and say howdie
windypipes

Greetings!

I did offer to come and play the piano for gigs.

Not heard from ian as yet!

bikertash

well you would have to provide the piano. we dont have one that works in the band room. and i dont fancy your chances getting a full piano up the stairs to the minstrial gallery at the wardroom. its hard enough getting the kit up there.
windypipes

Well im sure a keyboard would do!

And no I dont play accordian.
Aaron Aardvark

windypipes wrote:

....owing to the fact he tried to play one naked once.
bikertash

not a vision i want in my head

but yeah i guess you could use a keyboard.

He didn't half bellow when the bellows got him below
windypipes

oh my AA, your imagination must be on overtime yet again!

Did you find the dougnuts?
Aaron Aardvark

What doughnuts?? I was hiding in the roof all day peering through the murky clear roof tiles and you DID NOT visit with any doughnuts
windypipes

Really??

I was onsite.

Aaaah... Lurking in the attic with Champoo, Benylin and noodles, eh?? I wondered where the pungent aroma of Aardfarts was coming from....
windypipes

I wondered what the smell was.........
eastneyslapper

There is always a funny smell round the back of that block ...... And it ain't the drains.... It could be Aardcrement......
windypipes

Odd that the smell was there when I was in last week..........
windypipes

All quiet in here,

Cant have that.

AA seems to have gone back to his burrow.......
bikertash

hey you cannt say that its quite, someone will start a riot in here.

bikertash

hey dont take the pi$$, i cannt help it if i never learnt how to spell :P
bootybandy

I'm not extracting the wee. I'm sure you learned how to spell correctly, it's just that you've probably forgotten that's all.
windypipes

I thought that side of the water had well educated people in it?
Siegfried

windypipes wrote:

Where's that?
bikertash

nah i'm not smart at all. but you are right booty. i did learn to spell a few times. its just that i keep forgetting how to do it :D. as my PO kept pointing out to me last week during my QX
windypipes

Dont worry, Im bad at spelling!

Prefer to talk rather than write it down!
bootybandy

Just thought I'd get the thread back on track. Bumped into Ian Naylor and Angie on Friday in Fareham doing a little shopping. He has still not got broadband at home. Tish...Will someone tell him to get it and get his Rse on here. He has some mighty fine dits to spin........
windypipes

Sorry booty!
Hornblower

If any of you want to get back at Botty for his spelling patrols on the forum - just get him to definitely assure us that all his words are correctly spelled.

D'ya think he can?

C'mon Botty - definitely assure us.
windypipes

Shall we start betting?

1st round anybody?
eastneyslapper

Check out 'accompianist' in the recordings thread... defo a case for F8 there... (Unless it was an intentional 'pun'.... My apple ogies if this is the case... )

There is an instance of 'ocassions' in the Hammy thread too...

I'm gonna stop looking now, coz won dey eye mite spal sumthing rong bye misteak...
bikertash

thanks guys. i will have to keep an eye out for the spelling patrol in future.

as for ian getting braodband. i think the sun will stop shinning befor that. heck we cannt even get braodband down the band room. (well we are allowed to have it but apparntly we are to fair away from the hub for us to be conected.) the band tinternet runs at like snails pace and he can only just get his e-mails to load up (well ok one in a day :D).

i've also told him about the site and he didnt seem to happy with having to do computer stuff. maybe he could ask angie to do it instead.
bootybandy

Hornblower

I did too! But I didn't wnat to mention it...
FFoglamp

So, that explains why we had a king called Cnut !
windypipes

Been very quiet in here.

FFoglamp

Thanks Windy. There I was loading up for a smart or humourous response, and what do i get.............. "quiet in here" .
windypipes

My pleasure.

We aim to please

FFoglamp

No you don't ! ............and of course, it is no longer quiet in here.
windypipes

How observant.

I must read the posts !!
bootybandy

That's always a good place to start when replying to a thread. I never do it.

Oh well better late then never - what a silly bunt.
FFoglamp

Oh yes we have !!! A cnut that is.

Ooops sorry, just been told he was Danish, but he did rule Britannia.

Oh well, at least we've had a few cnuts as knigs !!!
Aaron Aardvark

FFoglamp wrote:

bootybandy

Desmond Carrington down at the Kings Head to name but three......
windypipes

SO how is Ian these days??
bootybandy

Very well thank you. The last time I saw him in Fareham about three weeks ago..... Just as an aside, I use to conduct Sultan Band when Ian wanted a blow on his Trumpet........
windypipes

Oh right.

They are a good bunch of people.

Played one gig with them last year.

Be nice to do something again.
musicmad

sultan silence :)

hello! just thought i would break the silence of the sultan chat and actually say hi, as mentioned things are very quiet on here :), us sultan lot are a good bunch?! many gigs in the wardroom approaching so things are great. rehearsals still same time same place chat soon x
Hornblower

Hey MM - come back often and tell your oppos to do so too!

Join us in the main threads too - you'll be more than welcome.
Michael Thompson

I've read through all this and am still waiting to hear more about Ian. I should I tell more about Ian. I remember a BBQ after a visit to Sovourine Hill Gold Mines in Balarrat
Australia with ian and Gaz Davies. He may recollect that visit on the Yacht. Looooonggg time ago.

Tommo
geekygirl

Ian seemed fine on Thursday evening at the end of our wardroom gig.

He seemed pretty stressed after a not particularly brilliant rehearsal on Wednesday, but fine after the gig!

Any funny dits about Ian are always welcome though. He tells us a lot of them down the pub but there's sure to be one or two funnies he's missed out

P.S. Hello music mad, hope you're still doing well. We should catch up some time if you're home
