summer social

After our spectacular weekend and an all round jolly fab term, does anyone else agree that we should have a summer social before going on leave to say hoorah and all that to ourselves and those that helped!!???

Unfortunately I feel it may be obligatory to consume a certain amount of amber nectar like fluid and potentially have a headache the morning after? A fair amount of silliness I fear can also be anticipated!

options... instead of a rehearsal - I suggest date of 31st July

1. go to a pub. Preferably one with a jardin du beer! Even better if they can put on a BBQ or something like that??
2. Someone with a big garden volunteer it for a BBQ and beer night!
3. Arrange something in the SRMess; is there a bit of ground on the station we could use for a game of rounders???
4. we do our own thing next to the bandroom?
5.we don't bother bah humbug??

i'm not at practice tomorrow as i'm on night shifts so those that read this please ask around / get Carter involved...

Zed x
Marjolijn

I'm in!!!
I love party's!!
Maby we can use our garden, for a nice evening.
Party, party, party, party, party!!!!!!
ZedHorn

oh dear.. you've found the dancing bananas!!!!
Marjolijn

Well done is'nt it? I love them!
Peter

I see we just offered out garden...  Might be good though. At least i can roll straight onto my bed ( if i make it upstairs ) after the party...or after the afterparty....
anyway.....Welcome you all to our humble place.

Greetz,
Peter
Marjolijn

I'll inform Tim to come!
dollydrumstick

Did someone mention a party????
dollydrumstick

And seeing as you love them
Anne Picc

What counts as 'helping'???  And is it too late to do some so as to secure an invitation?
ZedHorn

Dolly as ever your posts are informative and intelligent... all we need now is Axl to tell us they were slightly assymetrical and we're totally back

Thanks for the garden offer... I'll leave it for you to discuss it with the boss man!
ZedHorn

ps - Marjolijn... if Peter is Maverick, can we call you Goosewoman???

(Top Gun, 1980s classic Tom cruise reference! *swoon*)
admin

Banana's Assymetrical failings rectified but Axl can still pass comment on something else that floats his pedant boat

See - all you clever people trying to be smart - I just thought that their dressing was good!
ZedHorn

The only thing one should dress a banana in is chocolate sauce!
Marjolijn

The big boss approves it!!
So lets the party get started!!!!

ZedHorn

woo... hoo........

So party at your place - hope you can fit us all in???

check your messages (top left) and we can work out details! :-)
Marjolijn

You've got mail ZedHorn!!
ZedHorn

So we're having a band party!!!

details so far

Thursday 31st July 7pm ish onwards at Maverick and Goosewomans house (address and map on bandroom wall!)

Names list on the board also, as is the food list!! Please bring something for the feast..aim to feed a few people/spend about a fiver??? Sign up next to something so we can try not to have 200 sausages and 3 limp lettuce leaves!

The band fund will hopefully buy the BBQs so all you need to bring is your smiling self   , your food    , something to drink    & maybe a rug or a picnic chair!

I'm sure we can sort out some tunes between us too... and beer mats!

see you there... Zed    xxx
Marjolijn

The BB's

Admin: I can't get more emoticons up my laptop keeps stopping them. What can I do?
admin

hello you two... you know I love you both very dearly and I know you both love a party... but this one is especially for the best marching band in the Navy 2008!  and it's on a school night and a taxi back to Pompey with current fuel prices might be a bit steep!!!

Big Ted
bassdrumal

Can I come join your band now I am bandless?
bassdrumal

Big Ted

Ummmmmmmmmmm....................................two bass drummers???

And you think allowing him to a party with Zed there IS ok ?

Could be worse I guess - the instigator of the hole gummi bear thang could be there .............. but I'm not invited  .  Belonging to the best overall band in the Royal Navy has its draw backs after all Zed

Hang on... you all know the transfer season window has closed for vollies. I need to get the VBIs around the table and thrash out a deal. A Bass Drummer who can drink and fix broken people must be worth at least a tin of Kenco, 2 packets of chocolate Hob Nobs and a Mars Bar Duo and a £5000 arrangement fee for the arranger (Oh, that'll have to be me and I'll go halfers with Al).

Anne, you'll just have to arrange your own party in celebration of being the best overall band in the Royal Navy and the Band that discovered the Bears of the Gummi... a Best in Fest Bear party :-)

Ted, don't retire your kilt and you will be able to do a sterling job on marching tuba or failing that you could give those cymbals some serious crashing.

Big Ted

Two Bass Drummers -Oh Imagine the next display - we could have half a band each !
ZedHorn

it'd make for a great band split....

Funny you should mention that   The jumping through the hoops of fire, juggling during the drum display and unicycle riding trombone section might need a bit of work
Big Ted

How did Admin know I was practising that??? I have been doing it behind closed doors for weeks!!!

Big Ted
ZedHorn

cos he's an evil spy... wahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....
admin

Ted,
I know you have been but you must have misheard what your bandy was saying on the phone... There are Jugglers, unicyclists and the fire jumpers. Although highly commendable I think that you being the only firejumping-juggling-unicycling-bass drummer is a bit harsh on your bass drumming skills and the tempo might rock a bit. One of the skills is fine but doing them all at same time is a bit too much as you will be in serious danger of missing the quick and slow!

Bad news Al. I'm afraid the response was "He isn't worth £5000 but a fun size mars bar and a petrol claim should cover the transfer fees". Don't get too upset but that was YOUR bandy that said that
To be honest, the Senior Fleet Bass Drummer should be with the best marching band in the entire of the Royal Navy. I'm sure someone will give you a lift to Yeovil

How about a snacksize mars bar and a train ticket???

as for the senior bass drummer... I think we've already got him anyway!!
bassdrumal

Hmmmm - Thats it - Maybe I should throw myself on the floor in tantrum and demand at least a Snickers (Was going to say Marathon but half the people wouldnt know what the hell they are anymore) - oh and a piggy back to the station

Getting back on topic................wasn't at band last night, can someone pm me the party location...............got me sausages, chairs and blanket...but nowhere to go!!!!

Big Ted
Gromit

Sorry guys, but I'm shooting through on the party due to unforseen circumstances.

It's been a great term so have a well deserved fan-dabby party and a most excellent summer break.

Love and stuff, Gilly Willy  xxxxxx

ZedHorn

TOP PARTY GUYS!! never had so much fun in a garage in my life!!

Thanks again to Maverick and Goose for the loan of their house/garden / garage!! I hope clearing up didn't take all of today!

Despite the weather being utterly miserable it was a top night!

See all of the Best Marching Band in the Royal Navy next term, if not before!

Zed x
bassdrumal

I vote......before
Anyone wanna help us move and then have a party?

Erm, sorry Zed, probably should have discussed that with you first teehee
