University of Portsmouth Wind Band

First rehearsal is at 1830-2030 in room 109, Wiltshire Building (on Hampshire Terrace) on the 10th of October!

I ordered my first music today, and I'll be buying a lot more when I know who I've got.

And everyone should join it damn it!
Pompey Rich

There are enough in our band who are full of wind
windypipes

I thought the wind had gone after craig had left.................
A

You cheeky things, hijacking my thread in the very first reply!
windypipes

Well we have to keep you on your toes!
greenfairy

Wel lyou know I can't make it. Which is probably a good thing as it won't scare the poor wee students away first time!
A

As long as you're there for the rest!

And EVERYONE SHOULD JOIN!
greenfairy

Unless they don't play wind instruments? Cos that'd scupper you in the bilges and no mistake *yarrrr*
A

Aye that it would matey.
greenfairy

You need wind in those sails and no mistake. Savvy?
A

not really!
greenfairy

Avast w'ye

Is Hampshire Terrace anywhere near Hampshire Boulevard?? I know for a fact that would be a superb venue for a few post rehearsal drinkies...

I said on another thread, I will blow when needed, but much prefer hitting things with sticks.....

BEYOND CARING...
greenfairy

I was staring at the Hampshire Boulevard about 10 minutes ago.

Was dragged to the Registry by my bro and his mates.

I've never felt so bloody old in my life
Apricot

hon, I'm sorry I can't make you're first rehearsal either, work you know, very irritating getting in the way of the social life
A

That's ok, we're unlikely to play much that day, it's more of a meeting to sort out who I've got etc

Have any of you ever experienced HB?? It's awesome...
greenfairy

That would involve being sociable. And I don't do sociable.
eastneyslapper

greenfairy wrote:

GF.... I don't believe that for one second.... every other muso I have met and worked with has been sociable...
greenfairy

I try, I'm just not very good at it and hate the blank stares from people every time I try to say something. Obviously the masses just can't cope with an insane person (although I don't think I am)
A

HB on Karaoke night is a sight to behold....
greenfairy

Karioke is the work of the devil. Especially Monday nights at the Mary Rose
A

Seriously, HB is the funniest thing ever.

Aww, GF, well that is their loss.... I reckon we would get along just fine....
greenfairy

Guess I'll have to be sociable one time to find out.
A

Talking of sociable, after Thursdays rehearsal I will be in need of a drink. Pub anybody?
greenfairy

Maybe, see how things go.
A

Trustr me, I'm conducting. I will NEED alcohol. Copious amounts of.
greenfairy

I could just buy a bottle of vodka on my way to rehearsal?
A

No archers?
greenfairy

I don't buy girlie drinks

And I'm going to bed now so

Which pub are you thinking of?? I might just surprise you all and turn up....
A

Wethers probably. And you could turn up if you like, we're probably still not going to know who you are.

I may vaguely recognise you but I vaguely recognise and awful lot of bandies.

SO you have deduced that I am a bandy.... hmmmm
A

It was just a guess, being on the RMB forum and all.

There are obviously lots of ex-bandies and civvies in here too....
A

According to my sources you are a bandy.

If that source was old Windbag, you could be being misled....

we went to a pub near GF's as they were asking for ID in town and at my age I don't carry it...

its cos these annoying students are back in town for the start of term...
greenfairy

We have to go to that pub again. Much better plan as it makes walking home somewhat more bearable.
