Vollie does the USA a couple of weeks after the others did..

Right, my bag is just about packed, and I just have to get a few more things and I'm ready.

I shall be thinking of you in your nice warm beds, whilst I am loading up the taxi at 4am tomorrow.

I shall have internet access from our holiday village place in Orlando so I shall be here semi regularly rubbing it in about how I'm swimming with dolphins and how I didn't have to bring my hooter!

What happens on the 4th July then. Is that when George Dubbyah stands down?

Easy Booty...I do not say bad things about Tony Blair. I like Dubyah. July 4th is when we "colonials" remember saying "Ta-ta to King George III"...LOL

We certainly do!!

The man is a total waster and I'll be the happiest man alive if he goes down like a lead balloon when he invades your shores with his charm offensive with his wife ET. Somehow though, I doubt that'll happen 'cos too many of you are won over by our accents.

Remember this and tell anyone who wants to know on your side of the pond - he's a liar now, so his retrospective lies are likely to be even more so...

Don't get me started!!!!
mrbassbone

Hey...let's try to keep this on topic...I am still waiting for A to contact me about coming to our rehearsal tomorrow night.
bootybandy

No way mate....You've started Stuey off on one now. It will be weeks until his medication starts to kick in again.
RAB

..waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah..

Wait until the other Jock takes over at Westminster..(another massive tax burden on we Scots)...

Best thing you can do really, is to stop pretending that England is the superior breed, and realise that had we been given equal opportunity and respect in all aspects of modern day life from the start, we may have soldiered on thinking that Central Government was OK for us...

It seems that Scotland, Wales and NI have woken up to the fact, but you guys don't seem so keen to 'go it alone'..

If you really feel so strongly about it, demand the right for devolution, and (always better late than never) have a go at being a 'United Nation'..

I honestly don't understand ..We'll still be your friends and dig you out with Oil, Gas and Water etc...

Well.. we'll probably need some of your cash in return, so there's no loss what a neighbour gets...
mrbassbone

I finally made contact with your dashing Mz "A" and she will attend Thursday evenings rehearsal with the Orlando Concert Band. She is upset that she has to leave on 1 July and will miss our concert on July 4th. That would have been nice to have a "Brit" playing a "Yank" Independence Day concert with the "Colonials"...LOL
Hornblower

Botty's got a point....

I heard on the radio today that George W is on the verge of offering Bliar a job as a 'Peace Envoy' when he leaves office later this week.

It'll be interesting to see if he lives up to his reputation as GW's poodle.

On a serious note - I'm not sure it would be a particularly good decision on Bliar's part if he decides to go with the job offer - GW's not got long left himself and as far as I can see from this side, he's about as popular with the US electorate as Bliar is with us.

David Beckham he ain't!!!

Beck's has got a good chance of going down very well indeed Stateside - as long as he doesn't say anything!!!
mrbassbone

Jeeze Guys....please try to keep this thread on topic. I am looking forward to meeting "A" tonight at our semi-dress rehearsal for the july 4th Concert.
greenfairy

Does she know she only has to be semi-dressed? I guess it is warm over there and all though.....
mrbassbone

greenfairy wrote:

You might not recognize her. She said she has just "melted away" from the heat down here.

She is bringing her camera with her tonight so there will be pics posted later.

Shell
Hornblower

Anyway - as I was saying, Bliar may be a Middle East envoy soon etc etc blah blah.....

(When I think of all the people that thought they could control me!!) ROFLMFHO

I'll stop it now, because it's rude to hijack a thread in Nelson bandroom.

Carry on

Did you get a gig yet A? Did Shel shout at you?
mrbassbone

Hornblower wrote:

Yes...I shouted at her. Sadly...she will be unable to play our gig on july 4th as she is returning to your side of the pond on 1 July. She will sit in on our rehearsal tonight.
Hornblower

Let us know how it went then?

She intends to bring her camera with her for the rehearsal and take some pics and file a "brief" later...
Apricot

come on then, where the evidence????
A

I couldn't go tonight,,,, a combination of getting back from our daytrip late, being completely tired out by running around seaworld for 8 hours, and my taxi driver (dad) being too pooped to drive. Lesson learnt, next Thursday will be a lazy day by the pool before rehearsal!!!!!!

So sorry Shell, I'm gutted. However, very much looking forward to next week!

Hopefully...we shall try again tonight with Miss "A" and our rehearsal. IF it occurs...then there shall be pics later tonight or way early in the morning.<for your guys>
mrbassbone

Your Miss "A" made it to rehearsal tonight and sat in with our 2nd Clarinets. She and her Dad took some pictures but will not be able to post them until they return to the UK on Sunday. She had a great time and wishes that she could play the concert on July 4th.
A

Thanks for a great rehearsal, Shell! It was a lot of fun. Pass my thanks on to John for being such a friendly stand buddy, and to Barb for lending me her beautiful clarinet! I was very impressed, and I'm sure your concert is going to rock.

If you're coming over to Portsmouth anytime soon, drop by and we'll lend you a trombone!!!!
