I shan't answer that properly :-)

however I think it's supposed to be like a marching band - you liquorice lickers at the back, trombones and tubbies up front just behind the drum corps - quite exactly where a bass guitar fits in is a little beyond my blonde brain!

Yup, that's about the sum of it!
The bass guitar was a temporary measure to pad the band out. There is a thread here somewhere about forum ranks and your ideas. Someone suggest something and I'll make it so (a rank structure that is).
