From the title you know I'm just a civi. Was just curious about whats on this forum. I am a keen drummer and march for bands and have knowledge in pipe drumming. Was interested if I could pick anything up.

Welcome Johnboy.
Over the recent years we have taken a lot from the Scottish style of drumming and any other style we can take a little from and incorporate it into our style.

Admin, you are being presumptuous.

The lad might not play along with the Aberdeen Saxaphone Clan but is more of the Barriball type player and plays something like this/these??

....who knows??

Only kidding CIVI.welcome aboard, join in and if you do pick anything up.......DON`T GIVE IT TO ME !!!

I see yous all have a sense of humor. I was interested in joining the drum corps because I see it as a career that I would enjoy. I can read music and all so that would give me an edge over you lot already and I love the flash stuff yous do ripples and all that.

Johnboy, we do read music! We now read the sticking as well with drumming written on a single line with the right hand above the line and left hand below the line (Bohdrum method?). Obviously bugle music has the pitch as well so is written on a standard stave. Get down the careers office

I haven't got a sense of humour - and I don't do ripples.

I only like the original flake that breaks up in your pocket if you're not careful.

Welcome to the forum anyway - take my advice and run like the wind, don't look back. (To the careers information place like Admin says)
