Isn`t there a rental scheme running so that you don`t lash out loads of beer tokens on a hooter only to find that your little darling has fallen out with his/her best musician mate and doesn`t want to do that any more?

I think Cockles was doing someting on those lines....but as the man in the surgical boots said......
Spoiler:

I will stand corrected

No offence taken double A. The only reason I can think of having differing qualities of instrument is that youngsters being so fickle, they change their mind like the weather, and to fork out on an instrument that might cost many hundreds of pounds only for the youngster to change their mind and decide on a different instrument is quite an expensive hobby to pursue. I think that a lot of schools provide instruments to either loan or hire, and once a child knows that they are going to stick with it, then perhaps a more expensive one may be purchased. We were quite fortunate in the RMB to have good instruments (even though I'm sure the Horn holders would disagree) Saxamaphones were Selmer and are regarded as one of the better makes. I think Oboes were Howarth and again a good make. I'm not so au fait with the cornets, trumpets Troms etc. but I think Besson was a good make.

Ohhhhhh no.......Les is a Fleety bandy (hon)......he knows....he does.....respect to the Butcher of the Fleet. Without Big Les our sausages would never have been as tender as they were. A band marches on their sausages and pork chops.

Well I'm so glad my neighbour bought that old Sax..I can't give him a great deal of info on how to tidy it up, but I can sure tell him what kind of instrument he should buy for his (grown-up) kids, where to get decent sausages and pork chops, and how to go about taking drama lessons.....

He'll be soooooooooooo chuffed.. And more confused than he was before he fell Heir to the stupid thing in the first place....

Now... Anydoby for a night-cap..???
