Our thoughts and prayers are with the wife & family of Taff Thomas, who is very ill at this time. Only a liver transplant is likely to save him.

The latest from Taff Higgins:

''No good news I'm afraid, I visited today and sat with him for nearly 2 hours, he was unconscious for all the time I was there so I just talked at him about the old days, his body is closing down as the medics say and his face was very bloated,he is on a drip but did manage a couple of spoons of porridge during the morning, according to Andi he hates porridge!
It was very sad to see him like that but as I was explaining his past to a nurse she said "he's had a full life then" which made me feel better as it's true we've been very fortunate with our choice of careers and I wouldn't really have changed anything other than having taken a bit more interest in the music when I had the chance.
Speaking to Andi I don't think Keith would have changed anything either .
I've spoken to Huw Morris today and he will tell Shiner. I don't have contact numbers for anyone else.

It is with great sadness that I announce the death of Keith 'Taff' Thomas.

'Taff' passed away this morning. (20/11/06)

The funeral is on Saturday (25/11/06) and details of the arrangements can be obtained from Taff Higgins, via his e-mail address on Dickie Valentine's ex-RMB website.

Sad news... at least he led a life that was full of laughter and good friends. Deepest sympathy to all who knew Taff.
If someone can send an email to work with his service details: Name rank and number I'll make sure it is put in the Blue Band Winter edition. That or PM will suffice.

Was fortunate to serve with Keith onboard Britannia and in Portsmouth Band for many years. Always entertaining, a sad loss for us all, my thoughts are with his family at this time...

Huw Morris is urgently seeking a lift from anyone going to the funeral from the Pompey area. If anyone can offer him a lift please call him on 07904 429551. Huw is desperate to go to the funeral and would appreciate any help anyone can give him. He could meet you en route if needs be.
