Like many of you I am deeply saddened by the death of my old chum Keith.
I have many fond memories of Taff. When my wife and I lived on the patch at Eastney it wasn't uncommon for Taff to arrive on our door step with the makings for a dinner and drinks. He would get himself comfy and kick off his shoes, at this point we would make up the spare bed.
Another wee dit is, whilst gigging in the RMA in Eastney, Keith was on trumpet and coming to the end of In The Mood he started the last wee solo, we all had our fingers X'd that he would get the top note but alas the wee welshman dropped the last note down the 8va. I thought Simmonds was going to need a change of underwear.
During my EVT, which was in Wales Dec 2000, Keith drove a round trip of approx 80 miles just to have something to eat and a blether. What a Chum. He will be missed by eveyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.
Slainte, Chum. _________________ If the stage is level does the drummer dribble from both sides of his mouth? |

Excellent gathering for 'Taff's' funeral yesterday. Nice to see: Taff Higgins, George Tate, Gaz Davies, Huw Morris, Bootybandy, Taff Ingram, Dave Boorer, John Griffiths, Phil 'Gilly' Gilbert, Steve Swann, Dik Grainger & last but not least, Taff Morgans WNB.
It was nice to see his wife Andy, who I had met for the first time back in August this year. It was also especially nice to meet up again with Keith's Mum & Dad, whom most of us had met at one time or another during his time with the RMBS. His son Mark was also there, along with other members of his family and many friends and neighbours from Llansteffan.
Being in Wales, the singing at the service was awesome, except for one chap, who's voice was like all of the Morriston Orpheus Male Voice Choir put together! It was a case of...''bugger the organ, follow me!''
A special mention must go to the two Bulgers from CTCRM Band who played the Last Post.
A sad day for all of us, but we have so many fond memories of our time shared with Keith...

I was very sorry to hear the news about Keith. I did time with him in Pompey where he was a founder member of the SCC along with Bob Simmonds, Huw, and Shiner.
Best wishes to his family and friends |
