Hi Collingwoodites
Just a quick question - when & where do you practice?
Is it just one evening a week, or more?
Maybe you don't need to practice?! Just turn up and "Doooo It"!

There is a small possibility that I may be in the area in January and might pop along for a blow and to let you buy me a drink!
All the best
Bob from Seahawk

Practise night is Monday, in Colingwood band room I believe.

We are a friendly lot at Sultan too if you were in the area on a Wednesday, if a little computer illiterate apparently

Hi Bob! We practise every Monday night in the Castle in the Air pub, from about 10pm to closing time. Before that we gather in the Collingwood bandroom at 7.30 to make some noise while Rasher waves a stick at us for a couple of hours. Let us know if you need directions from gate to bandroom, etc. Looking forward to seeing you!

Hi Chrissie
Thanks for that. Unfortunately it is all up in the air at the moment. I need to get a quote from Flagship Training first and then grovel to my manager to spend his training budget. Knowing the way my company usually takes the cheapest option the idea will probably fall flat on its face.
But notice how I got my priorities right - find out when Collingwood band practice first, then arrange a course to fit around that!
Oh well - if it doesnt come off I will hopefully see you on the bus at Fleet in Feb.
Ching Boom!

Hi All
Looks like the trip is on, so I will get my passport in order to leave Cornwall. My course is on the 16th & 17th of January so I shall be in the area for practice at Collingwood on Monday the 15th and maybe Sultan on the 17th. Brace yourselves for more bum notes than usual! I am crap at sight reading (and not much better at stuff I have practiced!) but I am sure Anne will look after me.
Merry Christmas to one and all.
Bob

Ahoy Collingwood!
Many thanks for letting me play in your band on Monday night and for the refreshments afterwards. I had a great time and a good course. I was top of the class! (I was also the only one in the class!)
The trip home was a bit wet and breezy but I made it in good time.

if you need a second horn for the festival, I've been to rehearsals and am hopefully still on the nominal! SYATBT(9th June)

Two Bandmasters are better than one...

A bit greedy though but it is always handy to take a traveling spare along

They do tend to break easily so a spare is always useful!

Actually, we had FOUR bandmasters! All went well (Festive Overture's not the easiest bit of sight-reading for band or bandmaster!). I hope 'H' and Russ found it useful, and enjoyed themselves as much as we did!

Sorry to be picky, but their were 5 bandmasters (2 under training, 2 course instructors and our own illustrious leader!) That's without counting the ex Bandmaster who now plays in the band!!!!!!!!

Aha. The "Festikovich". Played it many times in another ensemble. Not easy!!! Good luck with it
