The funniest wind up I can remember was played on Stu ‘Spider’ Burgess at the Carnegie Hall. Spider’s latest squeeze was sat in the audience accompanied by her mother (don’t worry readers, she was legally old enough to attend a concert without being accompanied by a parent). Just before the finale of the first half, when the illustrious Corps of Drums were about to come on and do what they do best, the boss did the usual parish announcements and announced Spider’s engagement to said young lady. Only problem was that no one had told either Spider or his squeeze about the engagement. Poor old Spider had to march in with his face bright red while I imagine there was a very tense moment between two members of the audience .

I really can’t remember how long the relationship lasted after that... I can’t even remember which bulger had tipped the boss off about the ‘engagement’ but luckily the boss saw the funny side of it when it transpired he’d been hoaxed as well.

Come on peeps, lets get your favourite wind ups on the site!

Many years ago, a young Pete Curtis 'allegedly' despacthed Daz Boogie Bouncer Tuna Knight off to one of the pubs in Deal in a dinner suit and dickie bow on the pretence that they needed a bouncer for the evening. Blank looks all round apparantly!

In a separate incident, Hodgey and others sent off to a load of ads in the Sunday Papers in Daz's name. The inevitable junk mail came but unfortunately so did someone to TCoy CSMs office to fit a hearing aid for a JMusn Knight, and then their little game was rumbled.

Where is Tuna now?

And many a wig or "item in plain brown paper" arrived for rather noisy NCO's during my Deal years as well...

Now, that's more like it!

The sad irony is though Rab that I'd probably be quite grateful if someone sent me a wig or item in a brown paper bag, it would either keep me 'ead warm or keep me occupied and away from this site!

Keep the wind ups coming!

Didn't someone once get a shed delivered to one of the offices?
All I know is that someone ordered a shed to be delivered Cash on Delivery to one of the offices in Deal. Nobody ever admitted to it so who the culprit was will remain a mystery unless the person ever reveals their own identity. Nice one though!

It was the packets of free seeds from the Sunday supplements that started to arrive in the name of 'Wendy Hendy' that finally put a stop to that scam...
