Another year, another trophyless gig but what the heck eh???
Just wanted to firstly congratulate Dave, Dolly, Kay, Chaz, Kate and Amy for a fantastic drum display - everyone was sooo proud of you.
Well done Andy for once again leading us up and down the Guildhall Square
Thanks also to Mark for organising us so well and for not taking anyone's eyes out with flying batons yesterday!!!
Thanks also to those not on the coach on the way to the party in the evening and not hearing my speech, but just wanted to say thanks to everyone for playing so damn brilliantly to accompany my solo and for being so fab and supportive yesterday - sorry that I didn't bring home the trophy, but panic not the music is still up there somewhere!!!!
Well someone shut the curtains before I had chance to grab it off the stand!!!
(Oh and a mention to Martyn and Rich F from Lympstone Band for chosing the solo for me and Plymouth Band cornet players for their suggestions!!!)
The party was great and hopefully everyone had a good time, but not sure about those other Tinkerbells though
At the end of the day I will never forget the delight on the Commodore's face at the end of the marching display and we did him and Devonport Naval Base proud!!

Sorry you didn't win anything yesterday especially the Corps Of Drums. Hopefully Dolly, we WILL do a combined drum display with your section one year and stand by for next year mate as I am coming to the social and have every intention of drinking you under the table.
Very best wishes, HMS Nelson Corps Of Drums. _________________ Pump up Ploppy... |

I couldn't agree more. And thanks for the compliments Dolly. I won't forget mate. Just don't forget you are always welcome in Pompey. Even if you have'nt had a real drinking lesson yet. _________________ Pump up Ploppy... |

You mean he hasn't completed his drinking lessons yet Rich?!! Will your lessons mean he gets more drunk, less drunk or just learns to wobble less? Anyway, he's clever - he'll just nail the table top to the floor so he can't get under it no matter what he drinks. Looking forward to seeing the results of the lessons but can you include the optional module on snoring control for afterwards please? _________________ "If you think you are too small to be effective then you've never been in bed with a mosquito"

Strangely enough I'll problably win the snoring bit. I managed to keep a whole campsite awake a few years back on a scooter rally in Exmouth. _________________ Pump up Ploppy... |

Could also do with the module on the safe expulsion of noxious gases, although probably best to offer him the advanced course which provides guaranteed protection for a 24 hour period after drinking session _________________ "If you think you are too small to be effective then you've never been in bed with a mosquito"

Not for us - went home in Dolly's rather fast bright yellow TT - not a good colour choice for the morning after _________________ "If you think you are too small to be effective then you've never been in bed with a mosquito"

No it didn't - it was all a bit subdued, we just looked at photos on cameras and I tried to finish my essay - well I got a bit of it done and then another band member and I put the NHS to rights by having a chat!! Coming home is always a bit more subdued though isn't it, all the hype and stuff has gone |
