Thanks very much! Can't take much credit personally, but hey.

Winning something is very nice but as long all the bands know they've done they're upmost (as they always do) then the competition's a bit irrelivant really. The point is getting to meet up with so many friends who we don't get to see often enough.

Definitely need more massed bands action for all us band sluts!!!!

Where's the harm in cross-pollination?

I don't think I've played in a single ensemble, concert band, dance band, chamber orchestra, symphony orchestra or military band where most of the players HAVEN'T belonged to one or all of the others at any point.

It's good to catch up, and we're all one big happy family.

Well done to the rest of our band we really are the best Volunteer Band in the Royal Navy??!!??!! Was great to see everyone and I hope I managed to behave myself (in my own way of course)

Sorry!!!!
I am positive I posted something here during the week. I must have forgotten to press 'submit' after previewing it. Thats what comes of doing too many night shifts on the trot.
Congratulations, though. I'm afraid I didn't get to see either of your performances, but obviously they were up to your usual standard - excellent.
Best wishes to all!

I saw you hitting the bottle, Anne! Then I realised it was only Les in his fancy dress costume.

BTW A Collingwoodite has got past the border guards! I saw Sally-Anne at a brass band concert last night. Silly girl forgot to bring her uniform with her, but I am sure we can make use of her at our numerous gigs while she is down here!

i'll also say well done to you guys at collingwood, congrats for a great performance but i'll also agree with the above comments about it not being important who wins, in my short time as a bandy i think the comraderie and friendship is a unique thing you guys iin the VB world have, keep it that way!!
