It is called progress my dear... natural selection. Like evolution, survival of the fittest etc this process is called bulgerisation where the lower life forms become educated, cultured, nurtured (That is nurtured, NOT neutered) and they progress up the chain to the front of the band where the ultimately become the natural leaders. There is an old saying “Everyone is a frustrated drummer”… ever wondered why? The bulger is the ultimate evolution of mankind and is created by bulgerising lower life forms. You’ll be asking for a pair of sticks next… if you haven’t already got a pair. You know you all want to be bulgers!

Praise the Premier (with rolls), all hail the Alex Dutharts sticks, pray at the altar of the tambour and march in straight lines with a full pace of 30" and stick drill with sticks straighter than any mason could ever imagine. You thought the Da Vinci code was weird, you should try the words of wisdom in the holy BR13 and try to crack that code Many have tried, few succeed

Yes, but don't you have to be able to blow those tinny, slightly out of tune, curly things as well as bang those cylindrical wooden things with bits of dead animal skin stretched over the top to be a real bulger?

However, having tried to learn the first few bars of our drum static in order to know when to do a smart 'instruments down', I have the deepest admiration for the peeps who do the banging whilst marching without any music to refer to bit. Respect!

Deli - do you have an emoticon doing the two arm low bowing thing.
