Around the late Seventies and Along with Steve Quirk, we went to Chatham from Pompey to help out for the Festival of Rememberance . On arrival, D/Maj Dave Dawson Casually said to me " aah Lane, I'm really bored, I fancy a game of Hangman, take a seat". Dave casually made seven dashes on a piece of paper and then proceeded to involve me in the game. after awhile, certain letters appeared like this H--RC-T. By now I had cottoned on to his message, so I avoided every letter in Haircut until the only letters left to select were A,I and U. When we completed the word HAIRCUT, Dave casually replied, " That's it, haircut. Get a haircut by Monday morning".
The other time I was picked up for a Haircut, was by Graham Hoskins as I was riding the DSNCO,s bike along Canada Rd. to East Barracks. He pulled me over in his car and give us a Bollocking.. aah, those were the days. Just For the record, I'm Fifty March 10th and still have my own hair. (No hard feelings guys.)

It seems DGP started his tricks a long time before I met him in Deal then!
He had a wicked sense of humour

Oh and Bronco, you need another haircut

Hey Shady Penny Bronco (etc)!!

Are you the very same one who took the pi$$ out of my sideburns by pasting exaggerated ones to the side of your head during an exercise in training?

If you are (and you combed your hair with a flick-comb)...

You need a bloody haircut!!!!!

Ha! Ha! Afraid so Hornblower, ( except for the stupid ). Remember the exercise well, we all had a good laugh over it. Michael Flatley would of been proud of those sideburns.
